Hi Everyone,

I also have bigtime temperature flucuations. I often feel feverish. It's hard to know what to wear. I'll be going to have a hormone test done soon. I'll let you know if using hormone therapy helps.
Fibromyalgia, CFS, multiple chemical sensivity, herniated disks, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, ADD, and sleep apnea. I am happy to say the only medication I take is ibuprofen at night to sleep along with my supplements for sleeping. I am on a regiment of different supplements, I eat very nutritiously, and ever since my injury years ago I have been doing my prescribed stretches x2 daily.

Hi,

I've been dealing with this more and more lately. Most days I feel like I'm running a low-grade fever, but everytime I check it's normal or lower. We're still in the throws of ragweed season here, so part of it could be allergies. Regardless, it just adds to my list of annoying symptoms that keep me from going about daily life the way I'd like.

Think I'll go take an ice water bath...

"I am so glad I found this article....I to have been having red face stinging feel in my skin. I am way pass menopause and swear I get so hot I get a heat rash. I sweat @ nite the most, but I am also affected during the day. I did not know that this is also a side effect of fibromyalgis. I was getting really worried thinking it was something majorly bad.

What I am seeing here from all these posts is that all of you have a feeling of elevated fever or feeling hot on your skin without the proof of a fever.  I have these symptoms too.

I also have GERD, herniated disk, arthritis, IBS, and other common symptoms the same as the rest of you all.  I have a strong gut feeling that if we all changed our diet to include vitamine and mineral supplements along with NO SUGAR OR JUNK FOOD and meats, proteins, vegetables, but limit the sucrose sugars too plus we exercise every single day then we may feel better.

However, that may not reverse or completely change our auto immune issues linked to our bones, joints and digestive problems (actually I think our digestive problems are caused by our bone and joint diseases, including arthritis, back problems, scoliosis [I have], auto immune issues also including rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune chronic ideopathic urticaria (ongoing hives that have no known cause but must be suppressed with medications like zyrtec and hydroxizine [for me].  I think I am on to something here, or maybe I am on one to many of something for my stiff joints, crooked finger joints, joint nodules protruding and joints in fingers locking up, joints in toes aching and feeling stiff and cracking, neck cracking and stiff, etc.  Yes, advil is my friend but with GERD it is not but is my friend--a true enemy turned friend with all the cracking joints and stiff achy joints and muscles in fingers and toes.

Our low grade "fever" I think freinds, seeing as all you have herniated disks and what not that can contribute to GERD  and IBS, think about seeing a doctor to test for what type of arthritis you have--rheumatoid or osteoarthritis and how changing your diet and what exercises can help you.  Think smart health that is in your hands that YOU have to take control of since most doctors only give you 20 minutes or so of their time once a month or so whenever you see them.

You are your own best advocate.  Sleep well tonight knowing this: you have the power to change your life and it is in your hands and you are most capable of helping yourself so don't lose the opportunity and educate yourself and advocate for yourself about finding out about your illnesses and treating them with the best care there is.  God be with you all!

Love, Terri

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share with you that I feel hot when I eat something that I shouldn't. Yesterday I ate a thick home grown tomato slice on a sandwich and my stomach was upset for the remainder of the day.

When I went to bed my body felt inflammed and tighter than my usual tightness. So I had to take more than my usual amount of sleep supplements to get some sleep last night.

The previous two nights I didn't have as much of a problem because I ate very clean those days.

Good luck to you.

Oh my goodness, I've just posted something similar to this! Last week I woke up during the night drenched in sweat and shivering so I thought I had a fever, took my temperature and it was normal!?!? At 31 I thought I was going through am early menopause!! I thought I has flu coming on and I've even thought glandular fever...!? I went to the doctor and even said to him that I never know what to take as fibro and what not to! I've been feeling awful for two weeks now, my neck is in AGONY!!!:(:( glad in a sense to see similar stories!

I live in southern Maine and have felt horrible every winter for many years. I thought that it was just SAD, and it is getting worse every year. It's like having a mild flu for four months straight plus the bad days.

I'm very unproductive in this time frame and that drives me crazy. I do everything that I can just to make it through the work week. Weeknights and weekends, I am in a coma waiting for spring.

I need to move south, but it has to be a place that is definately going to help. My wife, son and I love the heat, changes in temperature kick my but though. Any suggestions?

Sherrine-Tampa looks tempting  smilewinkgrin  We'll be down tomorrow! LOL

I'm having this too. After reading all your replies and a similare thread on an anxiety site. And after pondering I have atleast a hypothesis. Everyone has a below normal temp. Maybe our bodies are actually trying to raise our temps back to normal? There's also a similare sensation at the end stages of hypothermia. The victim actually feels hot and begins removing their clothes. Shoes and all! Perhaps this a similare thing our bodies are doing? Just an idea.

I know this thread is old, but hope it's okay to post on it....

I, too, get a feeling of fever fairly often, but not a 'hot' feeling; more of a very slight deep inner chill, as I get when I really do have a fever.  My normal temp is 97.6.

Even though I'm well into menopause, thankfully I haven't had to deal with any major hot flashes.  Sometimes I get a very slight feeling of warmth, but nothing major.

When the seasons change here (upper Midwest in the U.S.), my body goes crazy and has much difficulty adjusting in so many ways, including temperature, of course.  I feel like I have to start over...and over...and over.  No wonder I get tired! confused

Medsleuth:  What an interesting thought!  You may be onto something. yeah

Interesting topic!!

I have the same feelings. Mine happens about 5 pm almost everyday. I get this feeling like I'm coming down with a cold. I feel flushed, feverish (but no fever), chills, scratchy throat and headache. I will feel like this for a few hours and then it passes.

I have asked several doctors/specialists about this and none of them had an explanation. Then last week my GP said it's thyroid related. I've asked him about this before and he didn't have an answer and now all of a sudden he says it's my thyroid although I've been having thyroid problems for about 2 and a half years now. I have even mentioned this to my thyroid (endocrinologist) doctor and he never said it could be caused from my thyroid problems.

I too have this. Normally a littler on the low side. It's mostly at night I usually at some point sweating with my top wet and on my neck, I have checked my temperature and it would e normal. Yet I feel I have a fever. Guess there is more of us with this than we realize.

I have a regular temp of 97.8 so if I have a 98.8 temp it's going to feel like a fever. Just keep check of your temps so you can tell the difference.

I also get red in the heat and carry ice packs to put on my neck everywhere I go in the summer. I thought it might be because of the thyroid, but maybe not?

My body temperature is chronically low. When people hold my hand, they make comments like "cold hands but warm heart". When I feel like I have a fever, they touch my forehead and say I feel fine, when in fact the fever has just raised my body temperature to a temperature that is normal for most people. I have like 2 doonas and 5 blankets on my bed, plus more blankets, an electric blanket and a heater in winter (0-20 degrees Celcius), so I'm pretty sensitive to the cold. Even on days when other people are in shirts and shorts, I'm in jeans and a jacket.

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to THANK everyone who posted here. It's SO encouraging to hear that other people are having similar symptoms! Like many of you with fibro, I never know what to think about "weird" symptoms (since we tend to have so many of them.) My fibro has improved immensely since I was diagnosed in 2002, but I think my actual flares are getting worse. I'm in one right now, and it's a doozy: weakness in hands, popping joints, pain in joints, feeling of fever, bone-crushing fatigue (so bad that I could almost sit down and CRY), flushing, but "normal" temperature. (Like most of you, my body temp is often around 97.8.) Last week I probably ate a lot of MSG which is a big no-no for me (we raise a lot of our meat and some of our vegetables and normally eat pretty clean) and I also took a flu-shot, AND the weather is changing. These might be why I'm having such a bout right now. Again, though, thanks for posting here. It makes you feel less "crazy" when you're able to read that lots of other people are experiencing the same strange symptoms!
Diagnosed with Fibro since 2002, also Chronic Fatigue.
