Well the dr has no clue what is wrong, I let him go through the exam and then we talked. He ordered blood work so I made sure i didn't eat anything this morning just in case. He is doing blood work for over active thyroid, diabetes, lyme, cbc, and lupus...Well I looked at him funny and he said that people with Crohns can also have lupus but it isn't a concern if your levels are low, so still with a funny look on my face I said, could it be fibro....he said he needed to rule out all this other stuff first because fibro is diagnosed on patients symptoms. So when they call me tomorrow with the results of the blood test depending on what they say I am going to ask for the name of a rhemy dr so I can get this taken care of. I told my husband that I looked at the list of symptoms and I had over half of them and he said are you sure it hasn't gotten worse since you read the symptoms, So today when I told him I gained weight he hung up on me when I wouldn't ell him how much I gained, does it matter, he says he is co ncerned YEAH RIGHT. I will let you know what the results are as soon as I can.

Eyes, it sounds like you have a very good doctor!  That's exactly what they have to do...rule out other illnesses first.  You see, fibromyalgia mimics other illnesses, like lupus, MS, etc.  So, those need to be ruled out first.  Once they are ruled out, you are usually diagnosed with fibromyalgia.   Go to the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum, and click on the link entitled "What Else Can It Be?"  Then, you will understand why this doctor is doing what he is doing.
So many mambers have gone to doctors and they just fluff them it's all in our heads.  Kind of what your husband did on the phone.  So, you are fortunate that you have a doctor that is listening to you.  Did you know there are rheumatologists out there that do not believe in fibro?  So, I think you found a good doctor in your primary care doc.  I have an Internist that I see.  I do not see a rheumatologist.  My Internist can handle my problems just as easily.
So, this is good news!  Be sure to let us know the results of the tests.  We really do care!
By the way, many of us have thyroid problems so that's good he checked for that, too.
