Hi everyone,
I am so sorry for ignoring the group.  You all have been so supportive of me and I wouldn't have gotten the help I needed if it weren't for you.  I've come to really like the whole lot of you and really didn't mean to be gone so long.  I have been buried at graduate school.  This semester is much more difficult than the last two.  That is because of my practicum.   I've been pacing myself as best as possible and will finish this semester in one piece.  Next semester will be a lot easier.
I went to the pain clinic this week because there was a cancellation.  My diagnoses are: fibromyalgia, hypermobility joint syndrome, arthritis and something else I can't remember.  The docs were great.  They asked what my doctor was giving me for the pain and I said nothing and they shook their heads shakehead .  I will be getting meds, trigger point injections for the other thing I can't remember what it is called, physical therapy and movement therapy, and classes.  I am excited because there is now a diagnosis for this pain and I am not loopy or malingering and they are going to help me.  turn
I will be talking to my grad school advisor tomorrow to let her know what is going on because I will be gone for appointments and classes.  But I think it is better to start now than to wait because I can get relief sooner.  It will probably be a good trade-off of less time at the university, but more productivity because of decreased pain.
I will be checking in more as I get a better handle on my schedule.  Miss all of you!!

Sue, what a great post! Its wonderful to hear that you are doing better, altho your schedule is taxing, you seem to be handling it all so well. I am proud of you. You are a motivator to me, I am so wishing to be able to return to grad school, maybe I can in mid 09. Good for you about finally getting the medical attention you need! I hope you will be feeling less pain very soon. Keep us posted!

Sue, this is great news!  I'm so happy you found doctors that will help you and get some relief from the pain.  I really have to hand it to you.  It's not easy what  you are doing but you don't give in to this illness.  That's wonderful!  Now, with your doctor's help, you will be in control.  That is so important with fibro.
I'm glad you checked in but we all understand why you don't have time to spend on this forum.  We are here when  you need us and pretty soon we will see you more frequently.  Please let us know how you are doing and what meds they put you on.  Have a great week!

Your messages came at a good time!  I was feeling sorry for myself and wondering if I could make it through this semester.   I talked to my advisor and she advised me to drop a class, and that will help a lot.

The other thing they diagnosed me with that I had forgotten is myofacial something or other.   I would say that there is a reason for the pain.  Glad I got rid of that awful doc that thought I was malingering and got a new one!
