last night I was just hanging out watching tv all of a sudden I had a very warm sensation all over my body It felt strange. then the next thing I know the muscles in my legs hips to toes were hard and very tight to the point I could hardly move them. my feet were cramping up really bad. I actually had had a pretty good day yesterday I was able to get my stuff done I dont feel as though I over did I worked at my own pace just little house work. Has this ever happened to any one The warm feeling was really weird.

Lee I have been getting that warm feeling. Last night I had it in my chest for awhile. The first time it happened a couple of weeks ago it started about mid thigh and went up the front of my body. Then one night I was cramping from IBS and I had it in my belly and it went up into chest. Last night I was cramping a little but the warm feeling was only in my chest and it stayed longer. DH wasn't home from work last night so it did freak me out a little. That is one of the strangest feelings I have had from fibro.

I'm going to ask rheumy about it when I go the 28th.

Anyway your not alone with it.

luv and hugs

Marlee

Yes, this happens to me, and the first few times  I did not know if I was dying or what. . . Very freaky feeling. .  .

Funny. when the warm feelings occur to me I ask myself, "Am I finally having a hot flash."

My friends assure me that what I am experiencing is nothing like that. Sometimes certain foods make me warmer. Often I will warm up like this in the pool so I stop to cool off for a while.

Thank you for mentioning this.

Lee I have not noticed any tightening of the muscles with the warm feeling. Could our brains be so messed up that the warm feeling is suppose to be pain??? But why would colon cramping cause that feeling up in my chest. We are so strange.

Donnaeil, I have had hot flashes from hormones and it doesn't feel the same as this.

Maz, I don't remember if I have welcomed you so welcome to our family.

luv and hugs

I get it, but only in my face. My face flushes with it too. Burning red hot. Odd. Not in a butterfly pattern though. My cheeks in general and down my neck and throat a bit.

Sometimes when I get a muscle that's stiff and so tight that it feels like it's getting ripped open, the area feels all hot too.  I get the hot-related effect a lot on the sides of my neck and the side of my face where my jaw hurts, and those can make my face pink or my ears red too when they're reallllly hurting.  Then again, I turn red or pink really easily from smiling or laughing, and my skin feels all warm then too, so I wasn't worried about it.

Anyone else with hotness/redness generally turn red and feel warm for non-scary reasons too?

I have something similar, but it is cold urticaria. It basically is I'm allergic to cold. It only happens on my face because the rest of me is covered up. After I have been out in the cold for even a few minutes I get like hives on my face and it turns red and kind of stiff. Also itchy after a while. I've had this almost as long as fibro. Another reason to move to Florida. Diane

After I posted that I remembered that I have had the cold thing since I was in college, so it's longer than fibro. Also once upon a time, I did this test I read about in a family medical book. It said to put a piece of ice on your skin and see what happens. I put an ice cube against my face for about 30-60 seconds before I went to bed. The next morning I had a perfect Ice-cube-shaped welt on my face. I guess that proves it. Diane

leemadd--The first time I got it, I was ice-skating on a pond with my future SIL turn The temp was about 10 below and the windchill about 30 below. Now I have a face mask I can wear, but my breathing makes it wet and cold. Diane
