I'm new and I was just diagnosed today with Fibromyalgia... I just have a quick question for starters but I have been reading around and I think I will make this my home...
Does anyone here have Fibro and ADD/ADHD? May I ask what meds you take for both?

Welcome to the fibro family! :-)   I don't have ADD/ADHD either, but I sure have fibrofog.  I am easily distracted and have a hard time remembering things.  It's very frustrating for someone who used to remember everything. rolleyes   I'm sure someone here has ADD or ADHD.  Anyway, I just thought I'd welcome you and remind you to read Fibro 101 at the top of the thread page.  It has lots of great info, and maybe there's something in there to answer your question.  BTW-random, I know, but I have a cousin whose name is TraceyLynne. tongue

Hi TraceyAnn and welcome to the family. I feel like I have ADD with the brain fog but didn't have it before fibro. Did you read the fibro 101 thread, second on first page, it contains a lot of great info. Ask questions and read and you will learn more about fibro than you really want to know. This is a great group of people that will help you as much as we can. So settle into your new home.
luv and hugs

Welcome TracyAnn, it's good having you on board.  I don't have ADD/ADHD, but I work with children that have it.  I feel like I have ADD.  I guess it is the fibrofog that causes me to feel like that.

I'm sure you will be hearing from more people that perhaps have it also.

Hi TracyAnn, it's nice to meet you. . . I don't have either, but I sure empathize with you, because like everyone else, I'm foggy myself sometimes :) Again, welcome :)

Welcome, Tracey!  Maybe it's fibrofog that you have and not ADD!  We do have our moments with the fog and some of it is pretty funny!  When it started with me I thought I had Alzheimer's so it can get weird.

I'm so glad you joined in.  When you get a chance, check out the Fibro 101 thread that Marlee mentioned.  There is a lot of good info on it.  Also, read back posts and ask questions.  We are here to help you.  I hope to hear more from you soon!

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. I fully intend to read the Fibro 101 thread. In a bit of a hurry right now. Up way to late and will probably pay for that tomorrow.

Sherrine, "Maybe it's fibrofog that you have and not ADD!" This is my exact thought after reading some of your post. Although I'm not new to the sypmtoms,I am very new to the information. Just diagnosed by a rheumy Friday.

My neurologist thinks that I have ADHD because of the fibrofog but my therapist told me that's ridiculous, you have to show symptoms in childhood. She said that if you don't have ADHD by about 10, you won't develop it later. You might have it mildly as a child and have it get worse in adulthood, but you won't develop it out of the blue. If you aren't sure that you have ADHD, don't take medication for it. Some of the ADHD meds can be pretty harsh.

Diagnosed with arachnoid cysts February 2002, fibromyalgia February 2008.

I think I should stop getting diagnostics done in February...
