I've been having a hard time these last couple weeks, and I've discovered that baking is not an easy task anymore!

Yesterday 1ds had a friend over for the afternoon b/c of a snow day, and I also had to shovel. Baking was not somethign I was looking forward to. But I still made 6 dozen sugar cookies, b/c I had promised the kids. I've hardly gotten anythgin done so far for this Christmas sad I coulnd't wait until I was done!

So we decorated them today after they were done school. What a mess! At least I had the foresight to take out a pot of stew from the freezer so I don't have to cook too.

They had such a good time. And oldest ds (he just turned 10) gave me a hug and said, "Thanks Mom, it's not Christmas until we decorate the cookies."

Aaaaw, I had a tear in my eye. And that is why I do the things I do, and why it's so worth it :)

Thanks for reading :)

What a sweet story!  I remember those days when my children were young.  Enjoy them.  Those days fly by much too quickly.  Yes, you may hurt but you have a smile on your face because you brought joy to your loved ones.  That's what it's all about!  Good for you!
