This is my first post. It's almost midnight, I'm very tired, extremely tired but unable to sleep. I was diagnosed with fibro 2 years ago. I've been coping quite well even though I had to change my lifestyle completely.
I had a very active life, with 5 dogs and helping with rescue I was doing a lot of physical work but it came to the point where I just couldn't carry on. Took me a while to adjust to the changes...
I haven't been feeling very well lately. I am noise sensitive and there is too much noise around from parties and fireworks and I haven't been able to sleep since the last week of November and now I'm in a lot of pain, especially my hands and teeth. Is this possible? I had three root canals this year and the I still have toothache. Had a number of x-rays and I really don't have anything wrong, it's just the pain...
Now I'm having skin problems in the palm of my hands. A friend came yesterday, he has psoriasis and his hands and my hands look exactly the same. My doc is on vacation so I have to wait until January to see him, but I wonder if there is a relation between fibro and skin problems? Just wondering if this skin problem is something that is not going to go the pain.
Well, thanks for your time and patience

Hi quenib & welcome.

It is so hard to adjust to the changes we have to make due to Fibro, I couldn't even begin to list them.  I guess I don't want to either because it was a long hard road, best to leave it behind.  You mention you have had 3 root canals, was this on the same tooth or 3 different teeth?  My daughter had a root canal & still had a toothache & kept going back & the dentist would say there was nothing wrong, everything looked normal.  She finally went in & said "Just pull it".  The dentist finally did after arguing with her & telling her there was no pain.  Well, he found that he had actually gone through the bottom of the tooth during the root canal & she had a hole.  Another thing you might try is a decongestant.  Sometimes tooth pain is actually caused by our sinus' draining & taking a decongestant will zap the pain.  It really works!

I get little water blisters all over my hands, palms & fingers mostly, they are tiny but boy can they itch.  Then the skin peals & then I get more little blisters.  I think they are water blisters, I really don't know & I have never found out if it is Fibro or CFS or something else.  Maybe someone else can answer that.  Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease & people with Fibro do have a tendency to have an auto-immune disease in addition to FM.  Well, I probably caused you more questions then gave you answers.  I know others will be able to help you.  Once again, Welcome & (((hugs))).  Denise

Hi quenib and Welcome-

I just had a root canal done right before Christmas and will have another one done on Jan. 7th. He found the second one when he x-rayed. So I do know what your going through! I do not have one specific tooth that will bother me unless it is abcessed. I do get pain in numerous teeth at times. I have TMJ and I grind my teeth at night.

My life also changed dramatically since getting fibro. It is a tough adjustment, I know. The group here is great and having support does help me alot!

Nice to meet you and hope you can find something so you can get some relief from the tooth pain-

Hi Quenib and welcome. The holidays can be stressful on us with so much to do. Many of us are sensitive to noise. I know the noise from my six youngest grandchildren get to me when they are all here together.
There are times when my teeth are very sensitive for maybe a day and it goes away. Makes no sense but that is fibro for you.
Read the fibro 101 thread, second on first page, it contains a lot of great info. Most of us use moist heat in some form for pain.
I hope you get better soon and are able to get some sleep.
luv and hugs

Hi, and welcome!  Many on the forum have problems with their teeth.  Some tooth pain can be caused by TMJ, which many with fibro have.  We clench our teeth and sometimes grind them when we sleep.  We wake up and our teeth and jaw hurt.  Maybe this is what is going on.
I see that Marlee directed you to the Fibro 101 thread.  Really take the time to read it.  There is so much good information in there that can help you.
You do need to keep moving with fibro.  If you sit or lay too  much, you will get stiff as a board and will have more pain.  I knw that it hurts to get moving but, once you do, you will feel better.
You have come to a good place.  We have wonderful people that have good ideas to help you live a full and enjoyable life with fibro.  Just read posts and ask questions.  We are always ready to try to help.  I'm so glad you found us and joined in.  I hope to hear more from you soon.

Hi again and thank you guys for your comments. I've been reading the Fibro 101 thread. I found the List of fibro symptoms very interesting, I think my doctor should read about it. Of course the "spoon theory" post is a must and I should be sharing that with some friends...
My hands are getting much worst and so is the pain. I was doing very well before the holiday, can't wait for things to go back to normal, when I have some helping hands around the house and I don't have to do almost everything on my own... confused
