First, let me welcome you to the forum. I'm glad you found us.

Next, my answer to your question is, I'm not sure if it is all fibromyalgia, but I have severe pain in my legs and feet and I know it is fibromyalgia. I also have pain in my arms and can't lift them above my head for very long (like washing my hair or blow drying and such.) I, too, cannot stand when I first get out of bed lately and I have an appointment with the pain doctor and I am going to ask the very same question, is this fibromyalgia or something else?

Glad you posted. Hang in there and we will wait to hear from you after you see your doctor.

Have a lpd and God bless. Gentle Hugs for the pain!

Hi Tammy,

Nice to meet you. I have the pins and needles sporadically throughout my body. This is from irritated nerve endings according to my neurologist who very much believes the nervous system is very much involved in fibro.
I can have joint pain too but not all my joints at once. I more have it here and there from time to time. I sure hope your pain eases as the day goes on.

Sorry you feel so bad these days. I have found that in the short time I have had fibro, everything is related to it, right down to my very first bout with bronchitis last year. My fibro does make all of my muscles feel really weak, like they are overworked from weightlifting or something (lol at the thought of being able to lift weights!). Sometimes I feel like I can't lift my arms or like walking is a challenge but I haven't really experienced the pins and needles. I have heard others complain of this symptom though. Just hang in there and make sure when you speak to your Dr. or whoever calls you back that you have all complaints written down (you know, the fog). I always forget something if I don't write everything down.

Thank you all for responding to my post and glad I found you all .This Fibro is all new to me and I can't believe how fast things have went down hill for me in the past 6 months.I had a Total Hysterectomy in July 08'and then a abscess was discovered 3 weeks later so back into surgery I went and then I had a really bad reaction to Levaquin and in October back into the hospital again for 7 days with the sever reaction to Levaquin.Mid november I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and in Jan.09 Fibromyalgia. The Rhuemy DR told me this was all triggered from the abscess I had and now I have full blown Psoriatic Arthritis and also FIbro and I am so sick of feeling so bad all of the time.I am begining to wonder if the bad reaction to Levaquin could had messed up my body but I will probably never know.I have always had a positive attitude and happy all of the time and now I am the total opposite.I am so aggrivated and frustrated all of the time and I know that is not good for me but I guess I need to work on that. Thanks again,,,,

Hi Tammy,

I would like to welcome you to the fibromyalgia forum. You have come to a goood place. All of the members are so understanding and compassionate.

Check out our thread called fibro101. It is the second thread. There is a lot of information on there. And a lot of symptoms listed. I think that you will find it b=very enlightening.

Hi, TAM, and welcome!  I had a niece who had a bad reaction to Levaquin last year too.  She could barely move and her joints ached really badly.  She couldn't take care of her children and had to be on bed rest so her mother came, all the way from Serbia, to take care of the children and the house.  It took her many, many months to get back to normal so some of this pain could be caused from the Levaquin.  I know that I will never take the stuff after seeing what happened to her.  But, we have one mod, Jeannie, who said that Levaquin saved her life so who knows.  But for me, my life would have to be endangered before I'd take it!  LOL
As Karen said, check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  You will find a list of symptoms and some great stretching exercises that could help you.  Try to keep moving as much as you can because if you sit or lay too long you will be stiff as a board.
Some members have a Bed Buddy.  You can get them at Walgreen's and other places.  But, you can make your own bed buddy using a tube sock.  Fill the sock 2/3's full of raw long grained rice and tie a knot in the end of it.  Voila!  a homemade bed buddy!  You can microwave this and it gives off moist heat.  The moisture is in the rice!  Hot showers feel wonderful, too.
I use ibuprofen with food and extra strength Tylenol for pain.  I also take malic acid/magnesium supplements for pain and fatigue.  There is a link all about these in the Fibro 101 thread.  Lastly, I take extra vitamin D3.  You might want to be checked for vitamin D deficiency since many with fibro have this problem.  Since I started taking more D3, my pain has decreased and I'm not as fatigued either.n  I was checked by my doctor, by the way, and was deficient in vitamin D.
Anyway, I'm so glad you found us!  You have come to a good place.  We have wonderful people on here that have good ideas to help you live a full and enjoyable life with fibro.  Plus, we really do care about one another.  So, read the Fibro 101 thread, back posts, and ask questions.  We are here to help you.  Hope to hear more from you soon.
