I'm curious what the experiences are with Lyrica. I started on 150mg 2x daily for one month. Increased to 225mg 2x daily. Anyone else on Lyrica? What is your dosage? How do you feel?

Fibro, IBS
Lyrica, Elavil

Sorry I don't have much to report either. I just started Lyrica about 2 weeks ago, I start my full dosage of 250mgs tomorrow so that may be why I haven't felt better yet. I do get sleepy... But my mood fluctuates between being crazy hyper (which I usually am not) and half asleep.

I was on Lyrica for 6 months. 125 mg. twice a day. It did help a bit , but I gained alot of weight which made the pain in my back, knees, & ankles worse, so my doctor took me off.

I have heard many good stories from others. My sister, who also has Fibro, swears by it. It has helped her Fibro pain alot. I guess it depends on the person.

Good luck & I hope that it helps you.

Don't mind the blank post just previous to this! Fibro fog! I thought I was wishing Christi good luck with coming off Lyrica on a different post and forgot I scooted to this post! Hee- Hee. I don't think I have welcomed you Purple, so welcome! Can't offer any advice about Lyrica, have a pres. for it but scared to start because of my sensitivities to so many meds.

Hope it works out for you though!

I have taken Lyrica for the past year and a half. It helps but does not take away all of the pain. Nothing does that.

Here I go again banging the gong. Welcome Purple. I have a friend that has prostrate enlargement and has bone spurs in his knee which will be scraped next week. He was put on Lyrica, for pain. Like the Hadicol salesmen of the fourties and the snake oil salesmen of the 1900's, another wonder drug, Cures whatever ails you. When Neurontin came out they were using it for pain, for MS, for Bipolar, and heavens knows what else. My friend is in incredible pain and the docs give him this? He cannot drive, dizzy, falls down, drowsy, but still in incredible pain.

Hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia, Facet Joint Syndrome, High Blood Pressure, menopause, Migraines, Chest Pain, Anxiety and Depression/BiPolar II
Synthyroid .075mg., estradiol.5 mgs., Amyltriptilene, 100mgs, bedtime, Tylenol 3 PRN (six-eight, daily), Valium 7.5mgs. daily prn. Flexeril, prn (not so helpful), Zoloft,150mgs., Zomig approx. 12 per month, prn., Meds for High Blood Pressure, vary.
