hi everyone, I am new to the group. I am frustrated because many people do not understand how I really feel. My boyfriend just thinks I fall asleep all the time on purpose. Like I want to sleep the way I do. Since I was finally diagnosed with fibro things are much clearer about how I have felt for years. I work on my feet all day so that in itself says all. I am on Lyrica, but for a different reason. Had both feet operated on 2 years ago, but the fibro makes it hard for them to heel so I still have problems. I need advice on what helps as to vitamins. I heard it was best to stay away from alternative surgars. Also, natural makeups help I was told. Any advice for today. I'm all ears!!

Welcome sweetheart and boy can I relate to the sleeping problem. There for a while I was sleeping day and night and it was awful!! A lot of it was due to the cardiac meds I was taking, but also, a lot of it was due to the Lyrica too. Can you reduce your doseage??

Please discuss this with your doctor and see if this doesn't help. And yes, fibromyalgia does have something to do with it too and also pain meds add to the mix.

I want to really really welcome you to the forum. Please keep posting and let us get to know you. We are a supportive group with a lot of wonderful and caring members. I for one, love it here.

God bless and gentle hugs!

It is extremely frustrating when you feel like you need to convince someone that your pain is real. Especially when that someone is a loved one.
I like to call fibro the "unseen" disease. People assume that because you look fine - you are fine.
Hang in there, hon!

Welcome to the fibro forum, you will find there are many wonderful people here, who do understand.

There is a thread called fibro101 with so much information on it. If you get a chance take the time to read it. There are many different topics on it and I think that will help you.

Everybody here is very compassionate and kind. Like I say, we DO understand, and it is nice to have that.

Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Hey Gamer and Meijergirl,

I just wanted to say hi and welcome to the forum!!  This is a great group!!

I can relate to the constant exhaustion, if I over do it, it takes me days to feel like I've gotten caught up on my sleep and rest.  Sometimes I try to jam too much into one day only because it's a "good" day, then I pay the price.  Trying to pace yourself is the secret but its hard to do that when you're feeling pretty good.

Please keep posting and let us know how you're doing.

Hi Meijergirl/Gamer and Welcome!

It's hard for other people (loved ones) to understand what we go through if they do not have fibro. Before getting fibro I heard about it but I did not understand it. Oh- now I do!   shocked

Even him reading some of the posts from the site might help him understand how bad the fatigue can get. I would be exhausted too if I worked standing on my feet all day-

Lots of good information here and a great group to belong to!
