Every time I think I have gotten over this virus, either another one comes along or, the same one has lasted for two months.

What I realized is that I stopped taking my vitamins over the past 8 months or so. I rarely am ill.

This has disturbed my swimming routine. In February I missed about 18 days and I think I should take off this time. Last month I thought I was better, swam for four days and became sicker for another ten. This is a low estimate of down time, I might have missed more days.

Everyone at the pool is worried. They are so accustomed to me being there every day. For the past several days I have had diarrhea, ugh. Today stuff came out both ends.

I am now living off of Imodium, great stuff, Tylenol extra strength, a delicious Pho soup a friend brought over and pepsi. Oh, I forgot toast.

I have not had coffee in 3 or 4 days. I am used to my daily Latte before swimming.

Oh well, next week I will begin swimming again, after a 10 day hiatus. I will probably be as week as a teddy bear but, at least I will be out of the house.

I am not really venting, just stating what life is like here. This bug has made thousands of people in the Seattle area ill. They almost closed an elementary school this week because of it. Hope people in other states are doing well.

The one saving grace, it is not the flu. lol

Enjoy life folks.

Wow Donnaeil!

That is miserable and I can empathize. I was down for 2 weeks in Dec. better for 4 days then down for another week. Two weeks ago I went down again. It just knocks everything out of you and takes so long to get your energy back. I'm so sorry you've been suffering.

There is something here, as well- the Twin Citiies area has been hit hard by a virus that is different from anything I have seen before. My husband got it and then I did a few days later. All told, I was down for a good ten days, I still sound like a three pack-a-day smoker. ha! Mostly a nasty head/chest cold, fever, with the most amazing body aches I have ever had. I had to get my husband to help me get out of bed, I could hardly move- and I could barely speak, thank goodness he was on the second floor so I could croak enough for him to hear me LOL But we dosed each other, made soup, brewed hot tea, and in general grew attached to the bed and sofa. I lived on meds, hot and sour soup, animal crackers, and tea. I haven't been to the gym in 10 days and feel really weak now that most of the crud is gone. But I know I'll get stronger each day and will hop on the treadmill and take it at my pace.

Donna, I hope you are getting better each day. When its all said and done, maybe we survived because of an eastern soup, in sprite of western meds! hehehee

Wow, bad enough to have Fibro but to have a virus on top of it is just plain wrong!! I hope you will all feel better soon. I wish there was more that I could do for you. I could sing but you wouldn't appreciate it, I am sure, so I will just say I hope you will feel better soon. Take care. Love & hugs, Denise

Thanks friends. I guess we live too close to each other in cities nowadays. However, beign able to find soup in a restaurant not far from home is cool. If I am up to it tomorrow, I am going to go get some of that Chiken Pho soup again.

Yup, Eastern soups work.

You know the virtual hugs feel just like the physical ones on this board. I am armed with more soup, soda and tea today. I actually went to a restaurant to pick it up. Even in my power chair the trip exhausted me.

I will have to return to the pool and swimming slowly. I might just join my friends in the stretch and flex class when I return. Once again, the 90 year olds will be in better shape than I am.

I hope all who were ill this winter get well soon. If I did not have the internet, I would have wiped out my family by now.

According to how I fell today, I may not begin exercising again until Tuesday. Gee

Well, maybe I will complete another chapter.

Thanks everyone,

I've had the worst winter ever, I had bronachitas, then strep throat, then bronchitas again, which I'm still fighting. It seems like this cough is taking forever to go away, I have coughed up more phlem then I thought possible (your welcome for the lovely picture I put in your heads lol). I probably should have takin all the antibiotics, but really I only took them for the strep (cause that can lead to heart damage if not), but for the bronchitas I have just been taking my asthma meds and mucinex, cuase i dont want to get too use to the antibiotics. Yesterday I had a slight fever, so I cant wait to get better, but spring brings allergies and more viral infections, it seems like every season brings me something. I really feel like the fibro has lowers my immune system or something cause I'm always sick with something. And lucky me, I get more depressed in the summer then in the winters, I feel like the sun stimulates me too much, so I'm always in the my apartment with the shades down trying to make it as dark as possible. Just a wonderful lovely life I have lol.

Awww Kitty,

This has been a rough winter for us. I hope you feel better soon. Whenever I had bronchitis, I took antibiotics. That is one nasty infection that can deplete your entire body. And the coughing is to rough. You must be in a lot of pain.

Take care,

P.S. I am tired of soup but everything tastes yukky

Donnaeil, I hope your feeling better.  The school where I work has almost had to close down from all the flu virus's going around.  I've been lucky so far, but the little one that I work with daily has been sick and his dear mother will send him no matter what, because she is worn out when he's at home.  So needless to say I've been trying to nurse him back to health without catching it myself.
I know how you must feel when you can't even go to the swimming pool.  Hopefully this week you will be able to get back and enjoy it again.
God Bless!
Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!!!!
