Well, I went to my GP today, & my sabbatical from Doctors is finished. sad   So, as far as the acid reflux goes, for now I am taking Prilosec.  She says to just start with that until I can see a Rheumy for a dx on what is going on with me.  She thinks I have some kind of an Auto Immune disease & I agree with her on that.  I felt the last Rheumy I went to didn't listen to me (NO!! Really??) & just tried to fit all the symptoms into a neat little package called ME/CFS.  Not that I don't have that, but I have always said there is something else going on.  Tomorrow I go to the hospital for a CT of my lungs because last year I had a chest x-ray & there was a film on my lungs & my heart is enlarged.  So, I go for the CT  scan & I had more blood tests today, as a matter of fact she took so much blood I almost passed out & she said I was the prettiest shade of "pea green".  LOL!!  The next day I go to the eye Doctor to have my eyes checked & the dryness tested.  Then, next week I have to go to Sandpoint, ID to have another echo cardiogram, which this is my third one in 6 months & I am not happy about this cardiologist, I don't like him.  Also, I will be seeing a pulmonologist for some kind of tests but it was Greek to me when she named them off.  Then on to the new Rheumy sometime after that.  So, I have not been working for 4 years & I still have a pile of Doctor bills from the last time around but my daughter says I have to do this, so I am.  You know, 5 years ago I was hiking up & down mountains & walking 7 miles into a lake to go fishing & now I can hardly make it up the stairs to my bedroom!!!  Well, I guess it is not good to dwell on what was, but as Patti says "It is what it is!".  Thanks Pattie this is my new phrase & I have used it many times since you said it to me in a post.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Spring, it is here, Hugs, Denise

Awwwwwwwwwww... Denise, I wish I could go with you to all of the appts.  Geez, sounds like you were a pin cushion, poor thing.  I hate getting blood tests, my blood runs really slowly.. not to mention the fact that my veins see that needle coming and run for the hills, so they usually take forever.  Lovely shade of pea green, huh!! Oh like that's a good look, lol.
I agree with your daughter.. you really do need to do all of this and get the proper answers.
Let us know how it's going.  I'll be thinking about you!!!

I don't mind being drawn, but the nurses. I had one that said" wow you really have jacked up your veins, you better stop shooting up." I was so angry, they were all scared from hospital and blood draws. I've been in and out of hospitals since 18. anyhow sounds like you have quite the schedule. Make sure you take time to breath and not get stressed out by all these visits. : )

Denise, I hope you find doctors that you like and trust.  It's awful when you go through all of that and still are not sure what is going on.  I'll be praying that they find the correct diagnosis so you can start feeling better.

Hi Denise,

When I read what you wrote about yourself 5 years ago it just saddened me. I feel the same way and I know looking back is not helpful but who can help it. I degenerated rapidly and have wondered if KNOWING has been all it is stacked up to be. I was in a major tennis tournament at the end of '07. Oh well!!!

It is my expression "it is what it is" and man does it help me. What are our alternatives??

Keep the chin up and know we are thinking about you.

Ah Denise, I can relate on all the appts. I have been swimming in them lately. Womans annual check-up, fasting cholesterol and mammogram. Saw something on the mammogram they did not like so on to a Center to have it redone (everything was fine, thank God) Dr. appt. for the high cholesterol reading from the lab work and low Vit. D. Another fasting cholesterol to recheck as it read so high. Just had eye appts for my son and I, follow-up appts for sons anxiety, abcessed teeth and root canals this winter. turn

I agree with your daughter and that it has to be done. Keep us posted on your tests and will be thinking about you!
