I wanted to know if anyone see's a pain mgmt specialist that is seperate from your rheumy? I have a feeling that when I see my GP she is going to recommend me seeing one. This will be (for those of you that remember me talking about this previously) that I would have to cancel my "contract" with my rhemy since she had me sign one a few months ago since I take percocet. Honestly, I feel like my rhuemy isn't listening to me anyway when I tell her that the pain is getting worse and I have to take more percocet to alievate the pain. I'v been taking pain meds for about 8 yrs now(started out as neck pain and bad headache's and had tylenol w/codine) and although I may be dependant on them, I don't feel I am addicted.

Yep, I see a pain management Doctor for about two years and he knows about fibro and
dx'd me with fibro even though I see him for the spinal stenosis. now with a pain
management doctors you'll be facing procedures, such as epi's but you'll
probably need to have your GP order up a head and neck MRI's first and
then go from there...
Good luck to you and I hope you get a good Pain Management Doctor..
Keep us posted and lots of HUGZ

Yes, the PM doc that I'm seeing is a spine specialist. He's not a rheumy. I've had a rheumy before, but it was actually a PCP that originally diagnosed the fibro. The rheumy was someone that I was seeing due to hip pain that they thought was psoriatic arthritis.

Since then I've been referred out to the spine doc to see about the hip and lower back.
