I quit my job!
No more silly 24 hour shifts!
No more having to sit for hours on end!!!
I'm going to become a housewife and student :D
I should be in my new home by this time next month.
Just making the decision to quit working has lifted a lot of stress off me!

Good for you!!! Sometimes making choices to get away from the craziness does relieve the stress. I hope all your plans fall into place for you w/ the new home, and being a homemaker and student. What are you planning to study?
24 hr shifts, wow, that is a tough schedule. I can't stand sitting for too long, either. Hope all your dreams come true for you.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
God bless.   Alice.

I haven't quite decided what to study yet. I want a career where I can have the flexibility to sit down if I need to but not be tied to a desk. I was thinking maybe Physical Therapist Assistant or Librarian. Do you have any other good ideas? I know that Waitressing/Food Service or Cashier/Retail is definitely out. I was also thinking of being a Temp for a while to see what kinds of jobs I might like.

It was pretty bad ... my boss was nice though, he would let me take breaks and lay down in the back room. He's got ankle problems so he understands things. The one positive thing was that I had a 24-on, 24-off, 24-on call schedule so I really only had to summon enough energy to work once every 3 days.

That is so exciting. I'm glad for you - I like your focus on turning something that could have been a negative and making a new dream from it. Way to go!

I am so happy for you!! cool
Being a temp is a great idea.  As you say, you can try different jobs and see what suits you best.  And going to school, wow!
I was temping, and the Co hired me full time.  It was in a law firm and I met my husband there.  After 5 yrs we got married and I quit.
My husband was a partner and I joke that I loved the firm so much I married it smilewinkgrin
