Aquatic exercise is great for people with MS and folks who have fibro. I live in WA where there are too many people who live with MS. I hope they find a cure.

My sister has MS and she had to lose weight.  She bought a WII Fit, prescription of Phentermen, and pain meds.  All this just to be able to work out and lose weight.  She started out at 302 pounds now she is down to 198.  Its taken 10 months and many pain pills to get to where she is now.  It hurt her so bad that she would just sit there and cry but she kept on going.  Now that shes lost so much weight the amounts of pain meds she takes has decreased.  I believe she has Fibro also but shes more concerned with getting healthier then getting Dx's.
I wish you luck

Hi lubylu and welcome. Sorry your dealing with so much. I take 100 mg of amitriptyline which helps with the pain and 4000 mg of tylenol a day. I use lidoderm patches for my hands when they are hurting, they are 4x6 patches with lidocaine in them, I cut them in half for my hands and it is 12 hrs on and 12 hrs off. I find they work well for pain that is close to the skin but not so great for deep pain. I can only use one at a time but some people can use more, you need a rx for them. Heat is my best friend for pain and massage. I was going to try neurontin but my stomach has been such a mess with gastritis I don't want to put anything else in it right now.
Donnaeil, my DH is from Montana and one of his brothers had MS and he has a cousin with it. I was doing some research for his brother before he passed away and found an article that said more people in the northern states gets MS.
luv and hugs

Hi, Lubylu, and welcome!  Check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There is a lot of information about fibromyalgia there.  Ther more you know, the better you are able to cope.
I use Ibuprofen with food and extra strength Tylenol for pain.  Also, many with fibro are deficient in some vitamins and nutrients.  So, I take malic acid/magnesium supplements for pain and fatigue.  There is info about them in the Fibro 101 thread.  And, I take extra vitamin D because I was deficient in that.  I have to take 3.500 IU of D3 a day to keep the levels in a low normal range.  A vitamin D deficiency can cause pain and fatigue.
