grabbed a dish out of a 350 degree oven without a potholder forgetting you were not cooking in the microwave?  Holy &^%&**   (*^&$#@%^& ) *&*(^%(!@!
I dropped it on the open oven door, but what came out of my mouth for the whole neighborhood to hear was  a mixture of foul obsencities that didn't even make sense... I sounded like the father in A Christmas Story.
Only two blisters though!

Ouch!  Donna I usually remember to use a hot pot holder but when I reach into the oven to take something out of the middle rack I brand the top of my hand or arm with the hot top shelf.  I have one scar on my right lower arm and one on my left hand right at the wrist.  These were just from this year.  But my language sounds a lot like yours apparently does. devil And I have dropped the hot dishes on the oven door when this happens too.  Sometimes I wonder how I have made it to be as old as I am with all of my accidents.

Warning!!! Stay out of the kitchen and this won't happen to you. I have my DH convinced that the kitchen is way too dangerous for me. smilewinkgrin skull    It really is cause I would be doing things like that if I cooked everyday.
Hope they feel better Donna cause I know how those smart.

Lost in Philly...I am laughing so hard at the corn-thing because I have done the same thing...only I grabbed an ear wrapped in aluminum foil out of a raging bon fire with my bare hands thinking aluminum doesn't conduct heat...Oh yes it does when the fire is about a bizillion degrees!  I tried to be cool about it and pretend it didn't hurt...That wasn't fibro fog....that was just being a moron!

Just so you know, I also grabbed an ear of corn out of the boiling water last night. I took it (VERY quickly) right to the kitchen sink where I couldn't even let it go until the cold water touched my skin. I amazingly did not get really burned but the fingertips' skin felt hot for quite awhile, and are a little sore today, but nothing peeling. A close call.

Yes, Yes........Yes!

I have a burn on the inside of my wrist from removing a pan from the oven and I went to rest my arm/wrist on the oven rack and Whalah...burn. I also, am always grabbing the lid off the pan on the stove with my fingers, ya, know..flipping it over onto the counter. What a ding-ball. I gave myself a burn on 3 finger tips about a couple of weeks ago and boy, they were awfully tender for a few days. I feel like I am not thinking when I'm doing this to myself, feels like real Duh! moments. ;-b

I think it was a fibro fog. I have to put the timer on for everything. Taking a nap, boiling an egg, walking, cooking aynthing. It's possible to go into a fog and forget. redface

I burn myself a bit much here and there. I love baking so I always have towels or something to take things out...but I do burn myself on the sides of the oven or the top rack or the lower rack. And of course steam burns. The other week...I was going to drain some pasta...and somehow unbalanced on the way to dump out the boiling water and slapped the hot water all down my chest...which I then threw the pot get it all over my lower legs and bare feet. The language was plenty of swearing till the nephew came and said, "AWWW...YOU'RE SWEARING!!" and then it became...muffled into my hand...while I pounded the other fist on the dishwasher top. Ahhh the joys of kitchenwork.
