I wasn't diagnosed for a long time because I don't have the classic tender points, either. I went thru 5 different specialists and was about to go to Mayo Clinic for a DX . I finally saw a very smart, thorough and experienced rheumatologist who said he was 99% positive it was Fibro, and that you DO NOT have to have the typical tender points for a DX. The good news is that you are starting amitriptyline, which DRAMATICALLY improved my fibro pain and fatigue. So, at least you are on the right track!
"Unspecified chronic pain" sounds like an insurance code and not a proper diagnosis. Can you get a second opinion?
