Well, I recently tried out a job on the computer, and after a couple of weeks of VERY high blood pressure and a stress level like I've never had (due to fibro fog), I need to find something simpler.  This job entailed working with numbers, which I've always had problems with, and computer lingo I learned months ago, but now just goes in one ear and out the other.  I honestly can't seem to "connect the dots."  My mind just goes blank when I need to do another simple computer function.  I've gone so far as to break the job down step by step, even adding helpful little notes, and I'm embarrassed to say I'm still struggling. The people I'm learning from have been super patient, but it's becoming clear their patience is wearing thin.  I've given this a lot of thought and prayer, and it's time to find something simpler I can actually DO.
I still enjoy typing, and I've taken to heart the suggestions others on this forum have given re typing for local colleges, etc.  The problem is I live in a rural area, with only a high school 6 miles away, and my fibro gets so bad in Winter that oftentimes I can hardly walk, much less drive anywhere.  I know I don't want to deal with things like typing stencils, or anything computer-related.  I guess I'm just much more of a hands on person, and have never cared for machines.  So--where would I find a reliable P/T job "simply" typing without any frills?  Does such a thing exist?  Has anyone tried any of the online typing jobs?  Do they involve anything (and I do mean ANYthing) more than just typing?  I'm fine just going to Word and typing there, but there's no way my poor fibro'd brain can deal with computer "know how's, and I've struggled and tried for nearly 2 years."  Any advice appreciated! Thanks so much.
