I was thinking even though at prsent I am in remission that having fobro tends to take our minds off how blessed we are.
For me I have a wonderful husband who understands that there are things I can not do. Wonderful children who tend to be over protective about my Fibro and will not let me do anything and the people they have chosen to spend the rest of there lives do as well. ie we went camping over the weekend and my sons wonderful lady made me a wonderful cooked breakfast then that night she cooked a roast meal. I was not allowed to do anything.
I am bleesed to live in the lucky country where we go camping is owned by my family all 600 acres no one lives there as it is on a back road with no power etc. We only have the birds, frogs goanna's and the wind for company. Lying in the tent at night with the moon so bright you see the lacey shadows from the leaves. Listen to the Moepoke [barn owl] the barking frogs and all the other wildlife makes you glad to be alive, then morning arrives and you wake up to the cookaburrar's laughing [ they are birds] the laughter of my family.
I am blessed because I have I live in a country with a great health care system [Australia] i now have a great Doctor who understands what Fibro is.
I am blessed because I have friends who understand and HELP when I am in pain.
I am blessed because thanks to God I now no longer have a frozen shoulder and I can move my arm freely.
I am blessed because no matter how bad the pain got I still had all of the above.

A good reminder that an "attitude of gratitude" can really make a difference! I have much to be grateful for, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Elegant post, Kathy! I think we all can use a reminder to count our blessing regularly and give thanks for all we have.

Thank you for posting this. I has warmed my heart!

Thank you Kathy. You're right. we do often forget about the good things we have. When I'm in a big flare all I can think is about how much I hurt and wish for it to stop, but I tend to not think about how blessed iam to have all that I have. The next time I am hurting instead of focusing on my pain I will focus on my positives.

Very good post Kathy. I also count my blessing quite often no matter how I feel. I have a close loving family and even though some of them, especially the younger ones, don't have a clue what I go through I can still enjoy them. My almost 6mo old great grandson put his arms out for me to pick him up Sat morning and I didn't give one thought to what kind of pain it would cause when I picked him up, it was a first, and I wasn't going to pass it up. I had to get my hugs and kisses from my little Chunky Monkey.
Of course I will never know what I would be like at this age if I didn't have all the health problems I have but I do know the little things mean a lot to me now.
luv and hugs
