I am going to see a neurologist on Wed. morning.  The office woman said he diagnoses and treats fibromyalgia.  I don't know what else to do
I am tired, feel foggy, and my family wonder why I keep forgetting things.  In fact, I went to the pharmacy to refill a prescription and the pharmacist said it was called in and ready.  I don't even remember!  Am I getting alzheimers? lol
I just hope somebody can tell me what to do.  I feel like the answers of hormonal or anxiety aren't good  enough.
I need somebody's support.  I have gone from dr to dr and never feel satisfied.  Does this sound familiar?

I am so sorry Jazzmynn, for many of us it takes a long time to get a diagnosis. It is
frustrating because you know you hurt and you want someone to believe you and do
something to help with the pain relief. I understand, I've been there.

The fact that you know that this doctor diagnoses and treats fibromyalagia is a good start.
There are still doctors out there who don't believe in it. Bring a list in with you of all your
symptoms and questions you might have.

We all have fibro fog from time to time. I went to pick up a presription the other day and
couldn't find my purse, I searched all over. It was on my shoulder the entire time, dah.

Just to remind you there is an informative thread, fibro 101 at the top of the page. Be
sure to check it out, lots of good information.

Hope your appointment is coming up soon and you can get some answers.

Hi Jazz and Welcome!!

This is an awesome family and I'm glad you have joined us. The sad news is we're growing so fast is breaks my heart but the good news is there IS hope to live a good life. Yes, do read the Fibro 101 and also do some reading that is based on good scientific research. I hit the library and find books to read. If I find one I especially like than I go online and buy it used like at Amazon. But when choosing books on Fibromyalgia stay away from those offering you a, especially those with great testimonials. One of the national consumer advocates, Clark Howard, said that if a company/product uses testimonials as their major form of advertising...stay away! and don't waste your money. I've kept that in mind for a lot of years now and I find it's most often true.

OK, I got into a cul-de-sac there for a back to finding you a peaceful life. No one can make the fibro go away...not yet. They first have to figure out for sure what is causing it. But there are many ways to help decrease the pain and hopefully prevent it from increasing. First try to take time each day to pamper yourself. Yep! YOU are not just worth it but you absolutely must take care of you first or your pain will increase and you will feel more miserable than need be. Take time for a nice hot bath and splurge a few pennies on some nice bubbles for the tub. Soothing music, candles and a good book are nice. Try to slow down the pace of your life, learn to say 'NO'...that's a huge one for me. We need to take good care of our bodies, get plenty of sleep and eat well or we set ourselves up for more pain.

OK, I've been jumping all over the place with my comments ...some days are like that. Keep us posted on your doctor visit and see how it goes. Remember...YOU are hiring the doctor, not the other way around. If he isn't someone you are comfortable with then hire someone else. If you like this person then don't let him go and consider yourself very fortunate. Many people with fibro never do get the care they deserve. We'll be with you the entire fact we'll go along on that doctor visit if you'd like! ;-) That's going to be one crowded Seriously, if you are nervous just remember there is an entire family of fibromites who are here thinking about you and waiting to hear the results.

Good luck,
Children will not remember you for the material things you provided but for the feeling that you cherished them.
