I want a pair of those 'as seen on tv' sunglasses that wrap around so no sunlight gets in when I am driving.  My glasses are those photo gray thingys but the are so skinny and don't get dark enough in bright sunlight, which bother my cataracts.  I walk in Walmart and (before hitching through the whole mega plex) ask a clerk if they sell....Ta Dah!   "Wrap around WINE glasses."  "Never heard of those", she says, without blinking an eye. "Let me ask someone".
It did not even register what I had asked her for until I heard her repeat this absurb item request to another person.  Guess what...Walmart does NOT sell wrap around wine glasses...no duh.  Can't even picture such a thing in my mind.
I was so embarassed I left.
I need a Fibro R Us store.  This would have just been a normal day in  fibro paradise!

Ghost Hunters on Si Fi so I've never seen the commercial. I too, seem to mix stuff up sometimes....thought

Aren't those the ones made out of brown paper???? I see men using them on the city streets sometimes. I think it's an "as seen on tv" item... :D

Do you have Walgreens drugstores where you live?  They carry all the "as seen on t.v."stuff.  I love to just look at that stuff.

I called Walmart this aftenoon, before I embarrassed myself again, and they DO have them at an "as Seen on t.v" table.  I just didn't know where this display was when I walked in.  I'll go back tomorrow dressed in a drop cloth and ski mask so those two sales girls don't recognize me.  I can't believe I wasted all their time looking for Wrap Around Wine Glasses.  They DO aim to please in there...LOL!

NM..these are sunglasses that fit over your regular glasses and they block the sun from coming in from the side, which really bothers me at the moment.  They are also good for snow glare...which will be here soon!

Are wrap around wine glasses like those hats that hold two cans of beer that funnel down a straw for watching sports only for wine drinkers! LOL!

Donna, I love your sense of humor! My eyes are so sensitive to light - yr round. I have to get certain sunglasses to make sure the light is far, far away from my eyes. I found the glasses you're talking about in Walmart a couple of months ago. They block out the light from the tops, the sides, it's heaven. I bought them, so happy to replace my old broken down glasses. When I got home my DS looked at me and laughingly said, 'Mom, you look just like Johnny Depp in 'Charlie & the Chocolate Facory, only his glasses were white.' I took off the glasses and gave him the infamous 'look'. A few wks later that movie was on and he made a point of showing how JD and I had the same glasses. Personally, I don't care, I am able to see again when I go outside, even on overcast days.

I hope you get the glasses and they work for you. It is miserable to be blinded by the light or lights outside.

Good luck.

God bless.  Alice.

You're right, though I shudder to think about it. Driving in snow is a pain in the butt whether it's 4:00 in the
morn going to work or 3 in the afternoon on the way home. I have to go up Perry Hill on 104 and it's a
bad hill. Nearly straight up. I've seen more than one semi lose it there.
I have a dot pattern in my eyes that refract the sunlight coming off the snow and it nearly blinds me.
I have the transistions lenses on my glasses and they help a lot.

OK, Donna...now my head is going whack-O! This is just tooooo funny. First I read your "WINE GLASSES" and cracked up. Then the part about the Fibro-R-US store..and somewhere in my head I was thinking Fibro-Mart. When I went to type it I thought you had called it Fibro-FART! shocked And the picture in my head is of a tall wine glass that is spiraled about 20 times. WHAT does that have to do with glasses? Oh dear! Someone pass the wine, please...the class with the 2 straws in it! and FAST!

fading fast...

Donna and Chutzie you are both so far gone there is no hope. shakehead I have not seen those in the "as seen on TV" section of Walmart here, I haven't checked at Walgreens or CVS.
Alice, I'm so far beyond caring what anyone thinks of the way I look anymore, it's all about comfort and necessity at this point in my life. I love Charley and the Chocolate Factory.
luv and hugs

Wow. That sounds like something I would do. LOL. If you can't laugh at yourself, then nothing in the world is funny. LOL. I really do wish there was a Fibro R Us. It would be so nice to have one. Those chairs that Poindexter got sound so awesome. I wish I had one.
