Puppylover, I so know what you mean. I've awakened many a night with insomnia and had to try to rub that gunk out of my eyes so I can see to do anything! But, if I don't use it, my eyes are painful and "glued" together, so I guess it's worth it.
Normal, this is just my opinion, of course, but since you aren't sure that it is rosacea or psorriasis affecting your eyes, I would probably see an eye doctor. Is there a different one you could see? Mine is not only familiar with eye issues, but seems able to discern if something systemic is causing problems in the eye and could refer me to the appropriate doctor if need be.
I guess to me, since your main issue right now (at least the one that is the squeaky wheel, lol) is your eyes, it makes sense to start with a good eye doctor.
