We just got a diagnosis of heavy metal poisoning for my daughter.  The results show that she is full of metals, lead being a major one.   We finally got her into an agressive naturopathic doctor.  After 13 months & 12 doctors we may find a solution.  I can't believe with all the testing she's had in the past year that a lead test wasn't done- I can't remember. This most recent test included stool, urine & siliva samples.   They are doubting that she has FM, but that it is metal poisoning, the symptoms are the same.  We live in an old mining town & from her birth until 3 years ago we lived in a 100 year old building & she played outside in the dirt (like kids do!)  Who knows, I'm always looking for a smoking gun, what caused this.  She has an older brother who is the picture of health, played in the same dirt, lived in the same house even longer. I'm just glad we're getting somewhere.  The homeschooling is going well, sort of slow because of her health.  It's a blessing to be able to leave off & pick up as needed.  I have not been able to find homeschool support for this kind of health issue. Thank you to everyone for your prayers & words of encouragement.

Lettuce, I will be praying that this is the answer.  It would be wonderful to have a correct diagnosis.  Then  you can do something about it.  I don't know anything about metal poisoning but I sure hope they can get it out of her system and she can get on with living the life of a teenager.
Thank you so much for the update.  Please continue.  We do care and I would love to hear some great news from you soon.

Found this on the Mayo Clinic website. Thought you might like to know what may be coming.

For more severe cases, the doctor may recommend:

* Chelation therapy. In this treatment, the patient takes a medication that binds with the lead so that it's excreted in the urine.
* EDTA therapy. Doctors treat lead levels greater than 45 mcg/dL of blood with a chemical called ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). Depending on the lead levels, the patient may need more than one treatment. In such severe cases, however, it may not be possible to reverse damage that has already occurred.

Children with lead toxicity may also be iron deficient and are treated with iron supplements, if needed.

Good luck with this.
