Hi all ! New Here. I moved from Los Angeles,Ca to 2 hours east to Rancho Mirage,Ca (Palm Springs area) 7 years ago by way of job transfer.
I really had not a keen sense of what I was about to get myself into as far as the heat was concerned. I work outside as a technician. I moved here in May 2002. It was only 95 degrees at the time. Within a week into my new home area, I was having abdominal cramping. It lasted abbout 3-4 days.It eventually subsided, although I began to think what a bad decision this was to move here. The temperatures rose as high as 118!! in July. Now mind you I felt as though I was a sharp person as far as my ability to perform at work. It didn't take long for me to realize I was getting "dopey!" I started to misplace things and tools like crazy! I would leave things and only remember I lost them 2-3 days later! I would eventually go back and find them. Customers would call telling superiors I had left equipment at their house! It was embarrassing as well as scary! This continued as I just dealt with it as I'm just getting older( 52yo now) or its just how I am. Until I started seeing media about Fibromyalgia symptoms. I thought to myself,"I have some of those symptoms." I was always tired at work,I had problems sleeping through the night,I always had back pain like never before.I also had digestion problems, and headaches. Not really thinking I had Fibromyalgia, but I did have some of the symptoms. As I researched the subject it came to me the similarities between dehydration and fibromyalgia. They are eerily similar.  This new finding fact has helped me realize the importance of water anywhere you live and every day!
I don't take it lightly anymore. I know there are a lot of other concerns with fibromyalgia, but with this issue its helped me.

I'm sure dehydration could cause some of those problems in people but most of us are not dehydrated.  I know I'm not.  I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, along with the fluid that are in fruits and vegetables.  I have been hospitalized many times for other problems and have been on IV's and still have a lot of pain, fatigue, as well as fog.  So, anyone that benefits from drinking a lot of water and they are "cured", they never had fibromyalgia in the first place.
