I just recently went off lyrica weaned from 150 am 225 pm down to" off "over a period of a month. i went off because i was having speech problems sounded drunk most of the time, trouble with finding words, blurred vision { not severe, but knida like when you get a little mucous in your eye and you keep blinking to get rid of it" and i only noticed it when i was driving! think it was because i concentrate so when driving and i only noticed it in the daytime when there was plenty of 'sky' in my view. any how noticed more stumbling and dropping things too. i was on this drug for 1 1/2 yrs. noticed these same symptoms when my doseage was increased to 225 am & 225 pm. went back to dr. and dose lowered to 150 am 225 pm. symptoms went away .then about 5 months later symptoms returned and have had them since. i have them now, tho not quite as severe {about 30% better} my pain has increased since off the lyrica and ive become terrible depressed....cry very easily...feel hopeless. i should say that i have also been on cymbalta 120 mg. in am and adderall 20 mg x 2 a day for the cfs and lack of motivation. it helps some with the motivation...have since been able to and want to get to some of the many household decluttering that has oiled up since being diagnosed. the phyciatrist added abilify recently {1 1/2 weeks on it now} think its helped some. now the "pain".........{sorry but thought you needed some background.}my internist has had me on percocet 5mg...... up to "4" tablets a day. he has had me on this doseage for over 2 yrs......put me on it before my diagnosis of fibro.....mostly because i tried other things,,,,,,,,ibuprophen ultram tramadol ? etc. nothing helped......i told him about borrowing a percocet from a friend { know this is a no no in the med field, but was being honest with him } and how it helped. also at this appt.  i was upset and crying w/ the pain and frustration and told him i just didnt want to live another 5 years like that. i had broken down at other appts.....ithink he realized how serious it was  {finally}  anyhow my problem now is that  of course my body has built up a tolerance for this doseage and its just not helping as much... in fact..verry little. when i approached him about this ...my last 4 visits... i just get a polite " iknow... mrs.-------- but i dont want to have to keep increasing your doseage as your body becomes tolerant to the higher doseages.i told him i really didnt give a ---- if it would give me a few more years of relief. he is just not going to do it and i am just beside myself as to what to do. i need to take them now 8:37 am but then i know ill need them again in 4-5 hrs...... then im stuck for the evening and night w/o pain meds. have tried ibuprophen in afternoons...about as effective as p***ing in the ocean. what can i do???? what helps yall? i have heating pads up the wazoo tried hot baths, stretching etc...i need relief.....im 61 yrs old, female, and i just cant live with this. and have also thought about buying off the internet..{scared to do that too} have seen chiropractors, called pain management centers{ wasnt impress with responses they gave me} sorry this is so long but im just tired of not having a life and crying at times with the pain. please someone give me some advice...im really feeling desparate........

Hi Resolving,

I take Norco.  Which isn't as strong as percocet, but I am happy with that.  I still have a lot of pain, but know that I wont get anything stronger.  So I guess we have to learn to live with that amount of pain.  I know that it is hard, but what can we do aside of seeing another doctor to try to get something stronger.  Have you asked him about a time released medication such as oxycontin?  It is percocet only continous release, I don't know if they come in five mg or not, but they do come in ten.  Maybe he would go for that.  But I wouldn't bother him too much about it because he might cut you off all together.  You wouldn't want that.

I hope that you ahve a wonderful time at your grandson's play.

Hugs, Karen

PS, are you suppose to take ibuprophin when you are taking the acetominaphen in the perocet?  I thought that you weren' tsuppose to mix the two.  Just checking.

Hi Evolving,
I understand what you mean about the pres. meds. It had gotten to the point I would take
3-4 darvacet and 3-4 flexoril and it wouldn't touch the pain. I'd be up all night and barely
functional at work the next day. Sometimes I wondered how I was able to drive the 20 miles to
work. It's a real physical job on top of it. The slurred words and almost unable to do my job.
I finally went to herbals and the Super Cissus RX and True Calm seem to do the most for me.
I ran out for 2 weeks and had to resort to darvacet and it was horrible. I almost broke down and
used a flexoril but if I did I knew I'd pay for it with days worth of dry mouth. I've been back
on my herbs for 3 days now and the pain is slowly getting less....hopefully a week or so from
now I'll be as good as new.

Dr's don't want to hear how much pain a person has, I have found it is better to let them now how the pain effects your daily life. Not just saying I am in pain. They seem to understand it more and have more compassion if you let them know the limits the pain puts on you. I have other issues, but sometimes I can't even wipe my own butt. (too much info I know) But when you can't put your shoes on or stand long enough to cook a decent meal, not able to get up and vaccuum or do the dishes it helps to have some kind of med that at least knocks the edge off it. I can take pain, but when it takes away my ability to be productive and have a decent life I can't. So, next time you go, take a written list of normal daily aactivities and how well you can or cannot accomplish them. If you have problems with daily hygeine or dressing and he doesn't listen, try a pain management dr. I would encourage you to not order online or otherwise obtain meds, you do not know what you are getting. A pain specialist will make you sign a contract, only obtaining pain meds from them and they also do drug testing to make sure you are not taking anything else.

Edited for content, we are not suppose to talk about illegal substances, including mm.  Per forum rules.
