i have never in my life experienced anything like THIS.  i have no idea what to do to fix it ... but it is driving me CRAZY.
in a nutshell ... i have this screaming itching burning puffy 'place' in a spot that no lady discusses with anyone ... and it is absolutely NOT something I can ignore.  i don't think it is a symptom of FM ... however ... it has sent my entire body into 'red alert'.  (THAT sounds like FM though!)  it just 'showed up' ... no warning, no injury, no issues ... just like magic .. it appeared.
oh my LORD.  i have no idea how i am going to manage work tomorrow ... and am honestly, seriously about worked into a panic attack worrying about how to explain THIS over the phone to the dr's office.  OW.  ICK.  what in the world can THAT BE??!?!?
sorry ... TMI I'm sure .. but I am desperate and MISERABLE and can't even find the words to say to the dr's office tomorrow.

I was thinking a bartholin gland cyst but I don't think that'll explain the burning. Unless you've scratched or rubbed yourself raw?

Have you tried monistat on it? they have some sort of cream for itching.

it's umm .... not the place you put monistat. how humiliating. i am blushing just typing this on a computer where no one that reads even KNOWS me.

no scratching ... no rubbing ... and i think i would have noticed it a wasp had stung me THERE. (but that is what it feels like) lol.

i am so sore all over it took me 30 minutes to get out of bed. what a horrible way to start the week! and yesterday was so relaxing and calm ... apparently one day of rest was not enough to recover from the week of hell i just finished. stress + no sleep + hard job + just coming down from the worst flare in 3 years + everything else + this new 'problem' = me wondering if i was hit by a truck or fell out of a building or something ..... good LORD ... now I feel like I am in labor all over my body ... and I'm to that point where it feels like it's going to kill me .... the bummer is when you actually ARE in labor, once the baby is born you forget all that pain and you get an amazing little person to meet. i am not getting a sweet little baby ... I am just in terrible pain with no epidural, no relief, and no promise that it will get better soom.

sorry to whine ... but i am so miserable i am crying just sitting here trying to get ready for the day. how on earth am i going to keep working like this?!?! i see my doctor on THURSDAY .... that seems like a hundred years from now. but i'm thankful for the appointment and for the new med. insurance that i finally have and for advil and tylenol and ... well ... i'm trying to talk myself up here ... can you tell? :)

Maybe a hemmoroid(sp) or a fissure???  You have to tell me exactly where this is...LOL...because I know you aren't quite embarrassed enough!  Don't ever be embarrassed on this forum, my dear.  We can take it...really!  Hope you feel better and this new symptom passes quickly.

Please get this checked out right away. Maybe you can move your appointment up, call the doc and see.

Best wishes,

I don't know if my pain is exactly where yours is, but I get horrible burning pain like someone is stabbing me , in the "sits" bone area.  It is deep inside but it spreads everywhere in that location.  It's what made me finally go to the doctor about all the symptoms I was having.  This pain was the worse.  I ended up getting shots in that location just so I could sit.

Sounds like hemmoroid's to me too. When calling the Dr's office, I just tell them it's too personal to talk to anyone but the Dr. If they push you on this, just tell them your feeling pain and leave it at that. They don't need to know everything and chances are they won't push anyway. Good luck sweetie.

Hey do-over, I'm back. I was just reading another post when someone, I'm sorry can't remember who, asked the following "Also, when you say "swelling" do you mean hives? My rheumy said that a lot of fibromites get hives. I get them very, very easily, from chemicals or just something rubbing my skin". It's possible and now that I think about it I remember getting just one spot of hives in the same area. I can't believe I forgot that. It's so painful and hurt to even move at times but thankfully will only last for a week at most, in my case anyway. I hope this helps and thanks to whomever posed that question. I'm in a big time FibroFog right now I'm sorry I don't remember.

Have you started any new meds? Have you changed anything in your diet? Have you changed laundry detergent?

You might try taking a bath in baking soda. Dry the area thoroughly afterwards, a hair dryer set on a cooler setting can help. Try getting into your docs office sooner.

Good luck.

It could be an abscess, or a boil, or a cyst, or something else entirely.

Please don't be embarrassed, but take yourself to the doctor and let him / her check it out for you. Abscesses, especially, can do a fair bit of damage if ignored, and you're better off getting it checked out asap.

Remember, what seems a big deal to us is usually pretty routine for our doctors, so please don't feel too embarrassed or self-conscious.

In the meantime, you might find it helps to soak the area regularly in a hot salty bath... or, failing that, make yourself a hot, salty compress, and hold it up against the area a few times a day. This isn't a substitute for seeing a doctor, though: please do try to make an appointment.

you guys are all so nice! and it sounds like you were on the right track.

i called the dr .... the only one i have ever seen in that office is OUT til Thursday ... however ... i talked to a really nice nurse who suggested that I put an ice cube DIRECTLY where it was bothering me. she said that if it helped, I should "invest in a tube of 'preparation H' and get my fanny to the dr on Thursday." well, that made me laugh right out loud on the phone. i thought preparation H was for OLD people ... cause my granny always had it ... and don't ask me WHY .. but i thought it was for her DENTURES. imagine my surprise when i figured out what it's REALLY for. lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a day. i JUST got home from class ... it's 10:30 here ... I am so tired and sore I don't know if I'll be able to sleep or not. And Tuesdays are the BUSy days at work.

on the up side, my 'pain in the butt' is better ... for now ... and I had some good laughs too!!!!

New here so Hi :-)
I have the same problem pretty much, horrible pain from the tail bone spreading out...Nothing to do with hemmorhoids or boils, just incredibly sore and most things seems like torture including taking a shower.
I hope your doc has a miracle cure up his sleave... blush
