The first time i posted on here as a newby i was in really bad shape. I had been recently diagnosed with FM and really depressed which made my pain worst. I was at my breaking point and didn't know what to do. After reading all of your responses and other stories on this forum my life has changed for the better. I started doing some of the things recomended, exercising, not feeling so guilty about slowing down and pacing myself, I asked my doctor for something for depression (cymbalta), and stopped getting so upset about things and stressing myself out. My pain and depression has gotten so much better.
I also had to change my way of thinking. Instead of feeling that i was loosing my life because of FM, I had to realize that I was not loosing my life it was just a different life. And all of the guilt I was feeling was from having to deal with change. I no longer let people that don't understand what i am going through upset me with their remarks. And I learned that I am not alone.
I wanted to share my good news and let you know that that this forum does help alot of us.
thank you for being there when i needed someone.

Tressia, I am glad you are feeling better. Learning that you have fibro is alot to take in.
You have taken some giant steps in accepting the illness, that will help you cope.

I am glad that you have found a med that is providing some relief. Fibro is an up and down
battle and a good mindset helps especially during the rough times. Hope and believing
things will get better help get me through along with the people on this forum. We are here
for eachother and I'm glad you are part of our family.

Hugs, Robin

I know just how you feel Tressia and this forum is fantastic!!!! When I joined, out of desperation, about 2 1/2 yrs ago I was at one of my lowest points in life and couldn't believe how nice, compassionate and helpful these people were. Many of the ones that were on here then are gone but they have been replaced with just as sweet people.
It is amazing what love, kindness and info can do to our spirits. I'm so happy that your doing so much better. You have learned a lot of what it takes to live with fibro in a short time.
luv and hugs

Tressia, I'm so happy that you are feeling better now!  This is a great place for info and I, too, came as a newbie with many questions...even though I had fibro for many years at the time!  New things would pop up and I was wondering what was happening.  This forum does help give control of your life back to you.  We don't operate out of fear if we understand what is happening to us!
Also, thank you for the positive post!  We love hearing good news.

Thank you for sharing. Sometimes we get so mired down in the day to day chronic pain that we forget what it used to be like when we were alone with this and felt hopeless. You are an inspiration because you are learning a new way to live and just doing your best to KOKO! (Keep on Keepin' on!)
