Now that the weather is getting better, walking outside is wonderful. I have been going
walking with a neighbor at least 5 days a week. We hold eachother accountable to make
sure we get our walk in. It has helped us both. We both walk at the same pace. She has
spinal stenosis and arthritis, so we understand the pain factor.
We started out slowly and we are now able to walk 1.6 miles to up to close to three.
I am a firm believer that exercise does help reduce pain. I have to pace myself and
on days where I'm flaring I'll only walk as far as I think is reasonable.
Walking with a friend does your mind and body good!

Hi Robin,

I also walk with a friend who has fibromyalgia too. She walks a lot more than I do, but we try to get together now and then and walk together. It is a lot of fun. And it does get you in the routine. I also walk my dogs daily. I didn't today or yesterday because of rain and snow. It sure was cold here today. Felt like winter again especially with the snow. But it is suppose to warm up by Saturday again.

I do try to walk daily. It isn't as much as you walk, but I do it everyday so that has to count for something. My dogs love it too.

Take care and thanks for such an uplifting post.

Hugs, Karen

Yeah, I try to walk every day too. Don't have a buddy, but once in a while my husband or one of my kids will go with me. I'm so glad it's warming up - I was getting sick and tired of mallwalking! But I just can't stand the wind!
