For the first time I have pain that is keeping me up at night.  I am so sore in my hands and fingers. My legs and feet are also very tender.  The pain in my hands travel up my arms and I have heartburn which I suffer from anyways.  I just took advil and cannot wait for it to kick in.  This week has been so busy due to school vacation   and we are replacing our windows and siding on the house.  A little stress huh.  Everyone is asleep and I am up.  I came here to vent and let it out.  Sorry, just want to sit and cry.

I have also been having a rough couple of days as far as pain and sleep. I usually am able to fall asleep pretty quickly after I take my meds (I don't stay asleep though) but for some reason the last couple of nights I have been tossing and turning and having more pain. I was hoping with the weather getting nicer I would start feeling better, but it seems to be having the opposite effect. I hope you finally got some sleep and that your pain eases up, hang in there my friend.

I didn't sleep well either, I think a combination of personal/family tension and the STUPID wind that's rocking the whole house and making the doors rattle. So now, of course, I've got the nasty pain right between the shoulder blades. It's a part of your body that's hard not to move, (every time you breathe, move your head, arms, or pretty much anything.)

Lately I'm trying to move more, hurt or no hurt - - up to a point, that is. This wind is Hellish on my body and soul, but I'm going to go to the mall and walk anyway. If I do have to take a Darvocet later, I at least want to know that I've exercised my cardiovascular system and all that jazz.

I am so sorry that everybody is suffering so. If whoever is in the weather front moving in, hopefully you will get some relief soon. I have been feeling the same way. So tired when I get up in the morning.

It just seems so wierd, even after all the years of dealing with it, that the fibromyalgia can effect us in such a way that is so frustrating. I have been achey and exhausted for the last three days. I am tired of it. I had been at a plateau of an even keel for so long, and now the shoulder that I had the surgery on is effecting me in such a way that I just want to scream. But hopefully this will end too and I will get some relief.

Best wishes to all.

Hugs, Karen

Hi livenlaugh!

I guess you don't much feel like laughing when you are awake with pain. Have you had a chance to share this with your doctor? There are several good medications that might help with sleep. As you already know, sleep problems are part of what fibro is all about but there are some things you can try.

Maybe try a warm soak in the tub to relax your sore muscles. Some people like very low, calming music when they fall asleep. Maybe some chamomile tea an hour before bed time would help. Some folks like herbal pillows, ie. aroma therapy at bed time. Maybe a very gentle leg or arm massage from your partner but only if you find it comforting. Sometimes reading helps me fall asleep but be warned...never read a book at night that is over 200 pages long. When you fall asleep reading that darn thing hits you in the face and can really

I do hope you find some rest and peace!

I agree with Chutz !!! +1

Its very important for us to get good night of sleep. Try couple of things, figure out what helps and never give up! Keep your head up :)
