I'm wide awake and in tremendous pain.  I felt it creeping in yesterday, could hardly stand up straight today but tried my hardest to get some housework done.  I think I overdid it.  I can't get comfortable, it's raining and my mind is racing.  Made myself a cup of sleepytime tea and hoping it will help.  On top of the pain my bowels are acting up.  These nights are becoming more frequent and longer in duration.  I have noticed that when I actually am able to sleep comfortably I fall into a weird dream state which makes restful sleep impossible.  UGH!
Where is the magic pill, elixir or cure?  I need it quick! smhair

Good morning lostnomad - I am sorry that you haven't been sleeping well. I don't have a solution for you but hope that in time your body will let you sleep.

lostnomad, I hope you were able to get some restful sleep. Insomnia and pain are a lousy
combination. I think we all have been there and know how frustrating it is. Sorry, you are
going through it. I'll agree with you, fibro does suck, hopefully someday there will be a magic

Take it easy today, relax in a hot bath and get some gentle stretching in. Hope you feel alot
better soon. Sending gentle hugs!!1

Hugs, Robin

I'm sorry you are hurting so badly.  I think when that happens at night, it's worse.  It seems more magnified because the house is quiet and that's all you are thinking about...pain.  I will usually get up and get on the computer and browse.  It takes my mind off the pain and I'm moving and not as stiff.  I figure, I'm not sleeping anyways.  Usually I'll start to get sleepy and then go back to bed and fall asleep.
The rain isn't helping matters either.  I do hope you are feeling better this morning.  Yup, fibro stink's!

Hi Lostnomad - I know exactly what you are talking about... In fact, you could be writing about my situation... I always get up when I am experiencing this type of situation.  I turn on the tv and get comfy - depending on what is bothering you, I find that propping myself up on the back of the couch helps sometimes.  My doctor prescribed me Elavil (I'm in Canada) and this medication has been a godsend!  It helps me with my sleeping issue - I get a pretty restful sleep now.  It can also help with depression.

Do you drink coffee or tea after dinner?  I find that if I have a coffee in the evening -my brain races too!

Do you have any type of medication specifically for sleeping?

I hope you got some sleep last night and the pain has decreased. I have been where you are many times. Try and rest when you can.
I struggle with FM,Raynauds Syndrome, gastroparesis, IBS and depression. I trust in God with all things. Been a tough journey and it's not getting any easier but thanks to God and my family I am not alone.
