Hi everyone,
I have had joint pains for a couple of years due to immune problems.  Some say fibromyalgia some say arthritis but all I know is it's pain everywhere!!!  I tried all the meds and nothing was helping me.  They finally put me on prednisone 5mg a day and I was on it for a year and felt great.  The prednisone had side effects and one is thinning of the lining of the intestine which of course I got and ended up with an abcess that had me in ICU for a week and the hospital for 3 weeks.  The Dr. told me some way some how I had to get off of prednisone.  So I went to a doctor that deals with hormone replacement therapy.  He put me on Nandrolone which is an injection every 6 weeks or whenever your symptoms come back.  It's a natural steroid that mimic your bodies steriod so it helps with joint pain.  I have taken two so far and I'm pain free!!!!! It's been about three months since my last shot and I feel fantastic.  I got my life back.  I hope you look into this and ask your doctor about it.  I tried everything and finally found something that worked for me.  Good Luck to you all!!

RITAS, I'm glad you are feeling good but I'd be very, very careful of this medication.  Prednisone doesn't usually help with fibro pain, but you could have arthritis.  BUT, I know Prednisone leaches calcium from your bones.  I was on it for Crohn's and Auto Immune Inner Ear Disease and I now have osteoporosis.
I know this isn't Prednisone but it could be in the same "family" and I know I don't like the side affects listed here.

Hi Rita,

I just wanted to say that I am happy that you are having relief from your pain. Though I didn't look up the medication so I don't know the side effects. I hope that you remain pain free.

Hugs, Karen

After reading the side effects, I must say that I hope that your doctor keeps a close eye on things.  Be very careful.
