You know I try real hard to put on a face and smile no matter what. Not only do I have the fibro. but I struggle with depression. Fortuantely my dr. put me on something that has really helped me with my depression and anxiety. But this latest stuff.....knee sprain and costochondritis, it all just really makes it tough. I thought that costo. was gone but it started acting up Sunday, woke me up and woke me up this morning. The steroid shot I got in my knee is wearing off I think and to top that off my other knee is hurting thanks to me having to lean on it so much. shakehead I am one hot mess. Gonna put ice on my knee and heating pad on my chest. If the anti. inflam. medicine wasn't giving me heartburn I would eat some chocolate smhair . Oh well, I guess ice tea will have to be my candy for today, atleast it is sugar yeah .
I struggle with FM,Raynauds Syndrome, gastroparesis, IBS and depression. I trust in God with all things. Been a tough journey and it's not getting any easier but thanks to God and my family I am not alone.

Do you have a cane?  I bought one at the drug store that collapses so I could take it with me when I travel.  This would help take pressure off both knees.
Be sure to take your medication with food.  That will help protect your stomach and help with the acid reflux and heartburn.
This will pass for you.  I woke up with costo today, too.  Came out of nowhere but the ibuprofen and Tylenol do help me.  Get busy doing something you enjoy doing, whether it be reading, working on the computer, or watching a good movie.  Dig out the gentle stretching exercises in Fibro 101 and print it out so you have it with  you in your easy chair.  You can do most of these without your knees and this might help you feel better, too.
While you are resting, make a list of all the great things in your life.  I would be willing to bet that the list would be f-a-r longer than a list of the bad things happening.  So rejoice!  Tomorrow is another day and you will be up and about soon.  Feel better, Sheila!

Hi Sheila,

I don't have the costo, but I do have the heartburn today. I think that is was something that I ate yesterday. Brownies to be exact. But I didn't want to say that because I knew you were craving chocolate. Sorry.

Costo is no fun at all. I don't have it bad, but I do have it at times. All I have to do is bend the wrong way and my chest muscles tighten up on me. It feels like they are spasming. Kind of like a charlie horse in your chest. It is a pretty scarey feeling.

Try to relax. And maybe do some stretching, gently. Take this one moment at a time. That is all that we can do these days.

Best wishes to you.

Hugs, Karen

So sorry to hear you're having a rough time right now.  I deal with costochondritis alot.  I always have some type of inflammation or pain in the chest and rib area.  It's no fun.  I do heat and when it's really bad I do Advil.  Hope you are doing better.  Keep us updated.

Hi Sheila, I'm glad you are able to wear a smile. A cane really comes in handy, I dusted
mine off this weekend...my RA was acting up. My cane looks like a giant mahagony screw
and I'm glad that I bought one...it really does make a differance!

Hope you can eat chocolate again soon, for me it is like medicine, lol. Take this time to
totally relax and pamper yourself. Hoping you feel better soon!

Hugs, Robin

Thanks everyone. I am trying real hard here. I did 15 minutes of light toning exercises and drinking all my water...gotta get lean and mean : ). I am not sure just how bad it is gonna get later but right now I am ok. I did try to do some stomach exercises...oh boy, that wasn't gonna happen, not with costo. My knee is holding out ok. I am gonna try and do some walking in the morning. This is my plan right now. Who knows what it will be like in 30 minutes, you know how that goes. I called the dr. today to find out just what kind of sprain I have and just when can I get back into exercising. Had to leave a message. Lucky me, my dr. is on vacation so her P.A. is gonna call me tomorrow. One more thing, I am gonna throw my scale out the window. LOL
