Well my fibro friends, I have just returned from the best vacation  I can ever remember having and I came home rested for a change.
We left Sunday afternoon after church and took our travel trailer to the lake.  Always before we felt we had to go hundreds of miles for a vacation.  This lake is about 20 minutes from home.  We sit the trailer up and then just sit back and enjoyed the weather and the beautiful lake that surrounded us on two sides.
When we woke up in the morning the first thing we saw was that beautiful lake sparkling in the morning sun.  We sit at a picnic table and ate all our meals.  Our youngest son spent the night with us the first night and then the oldest son and my little granddaughter came up for the rest of the evening and we cooked hot dogs over the campfire and smores a little later.
I came home this afternoon so rested and satisfied.  No shopping or walking for blocks to find a bargain.  Just plain old resting.  My body needed that so badly.  I think I even put fibro out of my mind completely.
Now I'm ready for the canning season and getting ready to go back to school.  I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful life.
When we came home we reserved the same place for fall break in October.  I can't wait to go again.
God Bless!
Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most!!!!

I am so happy for you Shannon that you got some much needed rest. Good luck with the canning and I hope you have as much fun in October.

Shannon, that sounds perfect!  We often forget we have the best places close to home.  My daughter lives 3 miles from me and we both live about 2 miles from a state park.  She loves to go camping so she and her friends go camping for weekends at that park....2 miles from her home!  There is a freshwater natural spring there, along with canoeing on the Alafia River...2 miles from home.  So, I think you have the right idea and I just bet that will become a favorite spot from now on.  I wish I could join you this fall!

I agree with you, we go camping on land we own about half an hours drive from our house. Our kids love it and will go with their friends as well. It is quite no phones just them and nature. I love to go there just relax, chill out read sit and talk restr just listen to the birds. Yep just relax. I love camping.
