Night before last, my husband went to Walmart and bought some markers and pencils; he says he laid the bag on top of the counter.

Around the same time, I'm trimming chicken for dinner. It is very hot here in the summer, so I put the trimmed "parts" in a ziploc bag and then a Walmart bag to keep in the freezer until trash day.

My hubby called me yesterday morning from work, unable to find his markers/pencils. The poor man had looked everywhere, home, car, office. I joined the search, even putting on gloves and going through the trash - no luck. We gave up, and he thought he was crazy.

Later that night, we were talking about it when he got home. He said, "I know I put them right there," pointing to the counter. Lightbulb moment for me. I check the freezer, and low and behold, there they were right next to the "chicken." Turns out I had forgotten that I had put the chicken in the freezer, saw the bag, thought it was the chicken, and put it in the freezer.

I hope frozen sharpies still write..... tongue rolleyes

Wow, Austenfan, that's a good one! But I can see how that could have happened - here's you, just going about your business, just trying to put things where they need to be, and the pesky wrong thing jumps into your hand! Totally not your fault!

I like your idea about freezing the chicken trimmings. I usually put them in the trash then forget to take it out. I either wake up to an awful smell or come home to one. Some day the neighbors are going to think we have dead bodies in here.

Well I'm curious--- do the markers still work? And thank you for the laugh

Thanks for the chuckle. I have done similar things, so I truly understand.

Have a great day!!!

Desiree, I asked my hubby if they worked, but he hasn't tried them yet, so I'm not sure. That's the difference between him and me - I would have had to open them and try them just for curiosity's sake. devil

It's been a big joke around here today. Every time someone can't find something, someone else chimes in with, "Did you look in the freezer?" Ha Ha turn

Austen, I'm curious, too. Heaven knows, I may end up doing this sometime myself! With my doing daycare, it seems like I am always buying markers. My guess is that they probably will still work-after they have had some time to "thaw" that is.
