Does anyone else have problems with their hands/fingers?
I used to love to craft and cross stitch but find some things difficult to do any longer.
Some days even typing on the computer can be an issue.
I make more mistakes while typing and some days spend more time correcting what I type.  LOL!
I find it hard to grab or hold onto things, especially if they are small, like a needle.
Does anyone else have these issues?

Maria, I have trouble with my hands and fingers and I attribute that to arthritis.

I make many typos and I blame that on fibro fog. Many times I'll read back a post
and see words I've written with letters scrambled or use a wrong word ...
example...their instead of there and misplelled words.

I make a lot of typos and am constantly correcting myself so I think that just goes with the fibro territory.
I used to have a big problem with my hands.  They were very weak, I had problems putting dishes up in the cupboard, etc.  I couldn't open jars, or my thumb-latch front door either.  My daughter bought me an electric jar opener but I found a jar key at William Sonoma that really worked well and I also have those round, rubber disks that help me open jars.  My thumb was soo bad that I could hardly hold a pen and was actually practicing writing with my other hand so I could still pay the bills.
This went on for about a year and then it gradually got better.  That's why I feel it was fibro.  Still, if I clench my fist and then open my hand, my fingers lock and I have a couple that I have to manually straighten.  It's not fun but, in the big scheme of life, it's not big deal!  tongue
I hope your problem will pretty much clear up like mine did.

I have had problems with my hands and fingers for about 40 years! They are numb or tingly or just plain hurt. Some of it might be arthritis because I have a lot of that but I know I didn't have it in my 20's because I had so many tests done then. I can't open jars unless I use an opener. I stopped wearing earring because I couldn't put them in my ears. No necklaces that have clasps etc. etc etc. I can't button small buttons. Sewing on a button is very hard and I use to sew all of my clothes.

Just another inconvenience that I have learned to live with. I always think I'm lucky it is not worse.

Thanks guys for the replies.
I do use one of the plastic thingies to open jars .
I use a hand held can opener and don't have issues with it yet.

I don't have much strength problems , just the grasping small things and then when I sew or things like that they get stiff and hurt.
I guess it could be arthritis as well.

When I'm typing I know when I've typed a word wrong but I just hit the wrong danged key. LOL!
Or I get ahead of myself and leave out a word and nothing irritates me more than being on a message board or FB or somewhere and there is always someone that corrects your spelling and they don't do it very nicely either.

All the time now (LOL)
As a writer and artist, I find myself spending more time correcting (typos) or trying to thread a needle than ever. Sometimes it's as if I were

I cant open most jars, just dont have the strength so luckily I can hand it to my husband or son and they open it with no trouble at all then laugh at me. I always tell them I loosened it for you. lol
As far as threading a needle I have this neat little threader thing (very inexpensive 3 in a pack) to thread my needles or nothing would ever get sewed here. and yes there are many times my hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and neck hurt.
It is getting harder to type some days but cant give it up it is one of the few pleasures I allow myself.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
