Well my friends, I got the results back yesterday from the surgeon. Mayo Clinic results were positive for cancer. The surgeon now says it is inoperable, There is the mass on the right side and the nodule on the left but there is also a lymphnode that lights up on the left too.
The surgeon says unless he could take it all out he wouldnt want to open me up and they cant do surgery on both lungs at once. So now it is on to the oncologist on Thursday morning to see what good news he has for me. lol  I will update you all then on what kind of treatment we are going to go with. On the upside they did not find any cancer outside of the lungs so there is always a bright spot if we look hard enough.
Then I had to have an X-Ray and see my pulmonologist about the leak from the needle biopsy. It is still there so now I have to go have another X-Ray and see him again tomorrow. He told me no long trips so so much for Hawaii. lol  He wants me near the emergency room just in case but he thinks it will be ok. I told him I dont leave town anyways so that is ok with me. Anyhow that is my most recent news and its back to the waiting game. Mama are you still with me in this game? lol
One other thing I love all of you and Sherrine and Desiree you are both such an inspiration for me. I hope that you wont let your differences keep either of you off the boards.
Gentle Hugs

Shirley, I'm soooo terribly sorry about this news.  You are totally amazing the way you are handling this.  Your attitude will help you so much.
I'm not sure if I told you this, but my grandmother had cancer of the lymphatic system.  They found it in surgery, sewed her up and gave her six months to live.  But, Grandma had other ideas and a strong faith to boot!  She went through chemo, the tumor shrunk to the size of a golf ball (it had been huge), and went into remission.  She passed on 15 years later......of Alzheimer's!
So, Shirley, no "voice lessons" for you!  Like everything we do, we have to face it head on and we just might beat it.  I surely have you on my prayer list.

(((( Shirley ))))

We all love you to bits. I know I do - and I haven't even been here long. You do have the right attitude. You remind me of the story my b/f tells about his mom. When she got her diagnosis, everyone around her was taking it poorly. She, however, turned to her sister and said, "Okay, so are we going shopping first? Or out to eat first? Let's go!" Keep up every positive thing you're doing. That strengthens every system in your body, really it does. It gives you more energy for healing. You can handle this. You can do it. I know it is possible.

Shirley, I'm adding my prayers also. I haven't been here for awhile, and am relatively new to this site. I do remember the warm welcome from many here.
Cast all your prayers on Him, and He will see you thru. The bible says so.
You sound like a brave woman, however something like this can be a shock for anyone. You are blessed to have this groups support.
Heres a verse I hope will comfort you.
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes I will help you,
I will uphold you with my right hand.
Take care and try not to worry.

I am so sorry to hear of your dx. I am also in awe of your strength and faith. I know these are very trying times for you and your family. I wish I could take away this dx and the stress it is causing. You already deal w/ so much and you do it w/ such grace.
In the short period of time you have been here, you have added so much w/ your kindness and generous spirit. I will keep you in my prayers. You are strong, we will be here to share our strength and love.
God bless.  Alice.
