Hi all, well the past week has been pretty rough but I am doing much better today. I finally feel safe driving again so that is a big plus. I took Charles to his two week check up after getting out of the hospital and he is doing well. He is going to stay with this Dr. that saw him when he was in the hospital being as our regular internal doctor is going to be working full time in the hospital and not seeing patients anymore.
Anyhow when we were done seeing this dr. Charles said lets go over and see our nurses and say hi to them. So we went over there and they gave us hugs and they were happy to see us. It was our drs. last day of working in the clinic and when he heard we were in the hallway he told one of our nurses to put us in a room so that he could talk to us. When he came in I told him I was more upset by him not being my doctor than I was over finding out I had cancer. He told me that whenever I come in for chemo infusions to have the nurse page him and he will come visit me while Im getting my treatment. He also told me that he thinks I will like the dr. that is taking his place and that he believes in fibro so I set up an appointment for next Thursday to see this new dr. Another advantage to the new dr. is that I will still have my nurses. Mine arent like yours princess lol.
I am going to hold him to that as far as chemo treatments I will be paging him. He cant get rid of me that easy. I do feel sorry for the new dr. because he has some amazing shoes to fill. Anyone who has seen my dr. thinks the world of him so this poor new one is going to have to be pretty amazing.
Just wanted to share my good day with all of you

Shirley I'm so glad to hear this. You must have read my mind, because I was thinking, "I wonder what Shirley's week has been like since her chemo treatment?" Thank you for sharing.

Yes, your nurses are clearly better! ;-) And what a wonderful doctor!! Holy cow. Can we clone him? I think he'll be equally glad to see you when you have him paged. Sounds more like an old friend.

So glad you were able to get around some. I read somewhere in another of your posts about how you swept the floor and things like that. I think that is really super. You really inspire me every day to be more.

You and your husband must be just the cutest couple around. I love how connected you are. So fortunate!
Why my username? It is real life nickname. I love chickens. Will have my flock of hens one day! :D .............. DX'd with Fibromyalgia, chronic hives, sensitivities and allergies, migraines with auras, tmj, and IBS. Not sure what else!

Shirley, you are an amazing woman, my friend! I'm happy that today was a good one
for you. It's nice to know that even though you won't have your doctor as your doctor, you will remain to have him as a caring friend!

I'm glad you had such a good day today but sorry you are losing a doctor you love.  They are hard to come by but this has happened to me.  I loved the doctor I chose and had him for five years.  He decided to retire from practice and work on a cure for diabetes at a medical school in my area.  I was really upset but got another doctor in the practice and I like him even more!  Never thought that was possible so I hope that happens to  you too.
It's so nice your doctor wants to stay in touch with you.  You must be quite special to him.  But we here on the forum can totally understand why!  Have an even better day tomorrow.

I hope you like your new doc.  That is great that the former doc cares enough to sit and visit while you have to do your chemo.
