Here's a fun question for everyone today. I'm not sure what the weather is like where you live but here in the NW corner of the contiguous US it feels like we're well into fall. I was even thinking of building a fire in the woodstove today.

So when the weather turns to fall and heads toward winter, do you prefer a stormy night with a wonderful pot of homemade soup and some cuddling by the fire or is a romantic dinner at a nice restaurant with ambiance and terrific service more your style?

This one is simple for me...I'm all over the cuddling by the fire. Going out to eat is very low on my priority list. But often in winter I put a pot of beef on the woodstove to simmer away for several hours and by the time the guys are home and ready to eat I usually have some homemade rolls or biscuits hot from the oven to go with it.

So what's your style?

Seeing how back at my home in West Virginia we have a wood burning stove, I would have to say cuddling up with some home made soup that I made. Sitting in a nice cozy blanket staring into the embers of the burning wood with the lights turned out so just the dancing flames illuminate the room.

Oh, definitely a dinner at a nice restaurant!  I am the only one who cooks at our house, and with doing day care also, I have had to cook way too much!  I used to enjoy it, now I've gotten so I absolutely hate it.  What I hate even worse is having to clean up the kitchen after cooking the meal.  I am up for a meal out just about anytime anyone suggests it.

Have to agree with you Shirley. I don't like the cold and it doesn't like me. But I hate to cook even more.

Definitely snuggling by the fire. I'm not much of a cook either, but that's what soup starter is for! devil yeah

I really do not like to go out to dinner, worked in too many restaurants when in my 20's and even before.  Hubby wanted to take friends out to dinner but she is like me and would rather eat what we have cooked.  We had fillets (that my mom had bought me) on the grill, potatoes, corn and bruschetta (all veggies from garden). I forget what else but it was good!
So, I would rather stay home.  Don't know about the cuddling as his hands always seem too hot on my skin.

Cuddling by the fire with the soup sounds good. That is, as long as I am not flaring at the time. :)

Yup, I'm a stay-at-homer, too. I would love homemade soup and rolls - someone else's! Going out to eat just seems to take more energy, don't know why. I used to love it.

I like the idea of going out for a romantic dinner and coming home to snuggle
by the fire.
