Can't remember if I've asked this before, but does anybody else get this?  (It's always my left hand, but then almost all the pain and tightness I ever feel is on my left side.)  Most of the time (worse when I'm flaring) my hand will just automatically close kind of tightly when the rest of me is relaxed - walking, sitting, whatever.  I have to consciously unclench it, and then if I forget about it, next thing I know, it's doing it again.  It doesn't hurt, it's just weird.

Debbie, my fingers on both hands will curl under and my hands will swell like
lobster claws when my arthritis is flaring. Your description sounds differant...
your fingers are clenched and you have no pain. I wish I could be of some help,
but I have no clue...sorry. Hope someone can help you.

Debbie, sometimes my hand will clench when I am trying to write. I have to kind of pull my fingers back. This has happened to me for years. I just figure it is a muscle spasm. I don't write very often, mostly use computer so it doesn't happen as much as it use to.

Hi Debbie when I was working I would find myself I would find myself clenching my jaw all the time and have to force it to relax. It was happening even at home in the evenings. I think alot of it was related to the stress even when I wasnt at work. It could be why you are clenching your fist.
