I have decided to walk to lose a bit of weight, well I would like to lose about 50 to 60 lbs I have set my self a goal to drop 2 dress sizes in the next 5 months.
So I have started to walk for 30 mins each day, I enjoy walking.
We live on 5 acres so I am walking around on there.
Today pain wise has been rough, my daughter told me to take today off.
Did I no I walked and while walking I found a lot of mushrooms [field] any way I decided to pick some as we love musrooms. I got a container from my DH and off I went. Bad bad idea, I ended up hurting too much to move I ended up the walk worse then when I started, but I did the 30 mins. I hope to walk again this afternoon and get my DD to join me.

Kathy, walking is so good for you. I hope your program is very successful. Do you stretch after walking? I walk every morning with my golden and I always stretch for at least 15 minutes after wards. It makes me feel so much better. Good luck to you.
And on the eighth day God created Golden Retrievers.

Yes, walking is good for you.
Even if you walk 15 minutes.
Anything is better than nothing.

I love fresh mushrooms in the spring.
I eat them once a year if I'm lucky to find some.

Hi Kathy. Is it your knee that hurts so much with walking?
If I can laugh at it, I can live with it.

I have found that stretching helps me alot. Maybe if you could stretch your quads, hamstrings, calves and plantar tendon before you walked, it might not hurt so much. Good luck. I can relate.

I stretch too and I can tell a difference when I stretch and when I don't.

Went through a bout not too long ago with my knees really hurting.
Doc told me to talk aleve or something before walking and it did help a little.
But yes, remember to stretch! :D

Don't think about what you used to be able to do............Think about what you DID do today !

Good Morning!  How is everyone feeling today.  I am still trying to figure out how to get around on here and I am making myself more confused than ever.  When I  think that I will remember, that doesn't happen.  Today is so different from yesterday.  I am so tired.  I have not been sleeping much and sure that is why, I had my burst of energy.  Today I am dragging my butt around.  I feel as though,  I want to lay back down and sleep.  If I do I will just lay there and not sleep.  I know my day is coming that I will be in bed all day and maybe the next.  Then I know the next step is the severe pain.  I will be using my cane again, and then my arm brace and sling just to help with the pain and reminding me not to use that arm.  And of coarse it is the right arm.  It always attacks the right side, beside my back pain runs down into the tailbone.  I am right handed and that makes it hard.  I am kind of glad  that it is not the left arm,  I would be thinking, I am having a heart attack or stroke.  I did buy a hot tub to help with the pain and sometimes when I use it the next day,  I am so weak and feel like I  have the flu.  Does anyone else get that feeling like you have the flu.  One minute you are chillin and the next you are burning up.  Like you have a fever but you don't.  I hope all is feeling well today.  I will say a prayer for all my F/M peeps.  Quote I made up yesterday when laying down.  When you feel defeated,  FIGHT HARDER.  I know this is hard, but it is a good thought for all of us, since we fight this every day of our lives...
Love u all

Hey Kathy! I want to walk too but can't get myself motivated. I'll walk with you! I made a trip downunder this summer. Was fantastic!
All you really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.

I am so glad that you are walking, I walk too every chance I get. Today it is raining though so that is hard for me to get out in. I am too lazy to go through that.

I love mushroom picking. We get spring mushrooms too. They are called "morels". They are fun to hunt. We hunt them in the woods. It is a traditional thing that we do every year. I like it because I go slow and find a lot of them.

I hope that you are feeling better.

Hugs, Karen
