Fibroeyez, Please look at Fibro 101 for some more symptoms. You sill find it very educational. All of us Fibromites have gone through something like this at one time or another.

Hi, Fibroeyez, and welcome!  Are you taking blood pressure medications?  I was on that and also diuretics and would get dizzy and nearly pass out...especially if I was bending down to pick something up.  It turned out that, because I had lost weight, my blood pressure improved and I didn't need all the medication!  That stopped the excessive dizziness for me.

I still can get light-headed at time...walk into walls.  I think a lot of us do that!  I'm thinking of installing rubber bumpers on the edges of my walls!  tongue

As Hara suggested, be sure to check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibro and you can learn a lot there.

I'm glad you found us and joined our family.  I hope to hear more from  you soon.

HA! HA! There are many things I will not admit to such as 'walking into walls'... Yes I need rubber bumbers also. But I also need them for when I'm walking to like around cars and grociery carts and such.

Hi Fibroeyes!

And welcome to this wonderful Family of friends with Fibromyalgia. It sounds like you have quiet a severe case of dizziness. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be. But don't give up! We'll be right here beside you whenever you need us.

I'm another one who needs rubber bumpers. I've started labeling the bruises on my body each day so I remember what I bumped into 'this time'. idea tongue But seriously, it's not only frustrating but painful!

I also would suggest looking into Fibro 101 and especially the section on seeking out a university/teaching hospital. Most states have one or more where you can get cutting edge treatment, technology and research. They aren't going to throw up their hands and give up on you. Here's the link to many of these facilities around the world so you don't have to go searching for it.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_university_hospitals

Even if you have to travel a significant distance I feel it would be worth it if you seem to have run out of options and help locally. Give the nearest one a call, explain what you are dealing with and ask for the name of a doctor or clinic that can help.

Good luck and please keep in touch...

Hello fibroeyez. I'm assuming that you are female when I ask this question. Do you find that the bouts of dizziness seem to coincide with your menstrual period? They reason I ask is that I had some severe bouts this past summer and lesser ones since and they all have been around the time right before or the beginning of my period. My doctor believes that it is related to my sinuses and the inner ear parts swelling during that time frame since menstruation can cause inflammation in some people. So now I make sure to take care of my sinus problem. Not much I can do about the period issue but if I take the sinuses out of the equation, things aren't quite so bad for me. Don't know if any of this helps but thought I'd pass it along anyway. Good luck on finding a solution. Please don't just assume it is part of fibro that you can't do anything about. Keep looking. Lee

Thank you for your input, my dizziness seems to be around no matter what time of month or time of day, if i eat or what i eat. i was told i had menieres ( i think thats how its spelled) and told i was going to have to have surgery and went to Vanderbilt in nashville and they said my inner ear was just fine. i hope to find a better doc after the new year. i am kinda being pressured to try for disability to which i dont want , i just want to go back to work, i have spent over a year not giving up and im not go to anytime soon!
thanks for all the help
