With the use of ambien, I am at the 8+ mark. Without it, more like 2-4 hours.
Just this week I tried a couple nights without ambien and it didn't go great at all -- VERY tough to fall asleep and the night is marked by constant interruptions in sleep patterns. Tossing and turning. Don't feel rested at all upon waking.

I went to the doctor yesterday to get the results of my 24-hour urine hormone testing back and (not surprisingly) many of the numbers were out of whack. So three more meds are being added to my list to try to counteract things, and in addition I was told to increase protein by significant amounts, up my potassium intake, get exercise daily, and improve sleep hygiene, etc.... so with that said, I've decided to stay on the ambien after all.
Oh, and I'm supposed to reduce my stress level... haha. It's having a negative effect on my body. Oh really?
