The results of my thyroid ultrasound showed cysts on both sides. Went to the ENT today. Need a biopsy, an ultrasound guided thin needle biopsy. Don't like the sound of that too much but, gotta do it.
The nurse at my doctors called me today about the x-ray on my lower lumbar spine. She started reading it to me and stopped mid sentance........."wait a minute.......you have some major degenerative changes on every disc in your lower back and you need an MRI" ............ Tomorrow I will get the authorization for that.
Then we go over my sleep study............she is reading again, "You have major disturbances in your REM sleep, .......I have never seen this in a sleep study"...........I need to see a pulmonoligist (sp?) for that.
My back has been killing me for a pretty long time so I would actually like to know how much damage there is. I have no idea what to say about the sleep study or the thyroid biopsy.
Isn't a pulmonolisist a lung doctor? My oxygen saturation drops to 70 during REM sleep and I don't see what a lung doctor has to do with that. I guess I will find out.
