I have thought for a very long time that fibromyalgia was an issue for me. My mother and both of her sisters deal with it too. I have recently started seeing a rheumatologist, it didn't take him much time at all to explain fibro to me. He is running lots of blood work to try and figure out which type of arthritis is effecting me, also in a few weeks I will be having every joint in my body xrayed along with a bone density test.
I have other issues and often times, one diagnosis will have the same symptoms as another, they seem to all intermingle. I was reading in the Fibro 101 thread, and do have many of the symptoms mentioned. The tinnitus started years ago, and they can find no reason for it, saw an ENT, did lots of testing only to find no reason for it. For now, my major issue is my neck/collarbone region, which they feel may be causing my constant headaches. I also get severe pain in the piriformus muscle (I usually call it buttcheek muscle)which sometimes causes sciatic pain too.
The rheumy was touching all pressure points at the last appt, the next day I had so much pain. I know he has to check these areas for a proper diagnosis, I'm not placing blame, only saying!
Was just wondering, did any of you start out with constant headaches, then gradually move to the other symptoms? I do have Raynauds also, and he did tell me there are very good meds for it, but I really want to stay away from meds as much as possible because of all of my intolerances. I also am severely gluten intolerant, not able to eat any grains..it's very difficult to find meds without corn. I also have small fiber sensory polyneuropathy, sleep apnea (which has greatly improved with my weight loss, no longer using the CPAP), chronic fatigue, fatty liver disease (caused by the weight loss)..I probably forgot something, I also have that foggy mind!
I would like to thank all of you for coming to places like this and helping others. It doesn't matter if you are here for answers, or here to help, or just here for support, it all helps another in some way. We are the strongest people out there, even though sometimes many are also the sickest. I learn the most from forums...thank you one and all.
