Hi - I haven't been here for a while. I don't know why, because I miss you guys. You understand.

This thursday I go before the judge for my disability hearing. I'm doing ok I guess, but am a little nervous. I had my meeting with the lawyer on March 1st. He said I'm a good witness....we practiced. But still, I'm a bit scared.

Some of you may remember that I was on many drugs for my fibro and depression. Since Oct 2010, I've gone off of 6 medications. My addictions were crippling me. It has not been easy, but I'm doing it. The heating pad is my friend.

I guess I just stopped by to check in. How is everyone else doing? Any helpful tips for me for at the hearing would be appreciated.

myjoy, let the judge see the real you. Don't put on a good front like we all tend to do to be polite. Don't worry if you seem to be showing your fog. The judge needs to see just how bad you are with the confusion, the aches, the hobbles. Take a deep breath and try to relax.

Good for you for turning your life around! That had to be hard.

I'd say if your lawyer thinks you're ready, you're ready. Good luck.

Hi Myjoy,

Sometimes the judges can be intimidating. Don't let that happen. Hopefully you will get a woman (sorry guys). I had a judge that didn't like women. It was scarey. You will have your attorney there. That will help a lot. If the judge says or asks something you don't understand, politely ask him/her to clarify. These things can be scarey, but you will get through. Just be honest and if you are hurting, let it show. Best wishes on your hearing. Let us know how it goes.

Hugs, Karen

Good luck and make sure you give us an update! There are plenty of people that would love in your experience as stated above. I'm at the review stage but love to know what happens if I get to that stage.

Good luck again!

Karen - I have a male judge.

I will check in and let everyone know how it goes for me. Thanks for being here, all of you. :)
