Sherrine, I'm in the severe osteoporosis category...looking at my last two bone scan reports, I've made a slight improvement in my spine going from a T score of -4.3 to -3.9 which is still significant.

Some meds can interfere with calcium absorption. Too much salt can too. My Vitamin D level is now in the low normal category after going through vitamin D therapy and that might have made the differance for the slight improvement in my T scores. We need the vitamin D to absorb calcium. I've read that fibromites are more prone to osteoporosis.
I've made some changes to my diet...eat lots of yogurt, cheese
and drink more milk. I also drink OJ with calcium added. The dark green leafy veggies are a good source of calcium too.
I guess all we can do is continue to take our supplements, eat healthy and keep walking. wishing you the best, my friend. Hope your T scores improve!
