I work for a doctor. A patient walks in and I know who they are, but does the name come to me? Every single receipt I write, I have to find the calander because I can't remember the date. I keep a stack of scrap paper on my desk for notes and I do write myself a lot of notes.
What really gets me, when I get frustrated about it all, the others at work all tell me, "Don't worry, it happens to all of us all the time." NO, IT DOESN'T! They do not understand this isn't simple forgetfulness.
I think the worst one for me was losing my car in the Walmart parking lot. It was freezing cold, a nasty wind blowing, and I had no idea, none whatsoever where I left the car. I wandered and wandered trying to find the car, I was freezing and just when I decided to go back into the store, there it was, right in front of me.
There was the day I took our UPS boxes out to the drop box, came back to my desk and the label for one of the boxes was still laying thereon the desk. I called UPS and they told me they had no way of getting in touch with our driver, so I had to sit in my car and wait for him to pick up his 5:30 pickups. By 7:30, I was still sitting there. He then gave me his phone number so if I do it again, I can just call him and let him know.
