I have went through Vocational Rehab 2ce. After I was approved it was not long before I went to a local college. I live in TN and was on ssi at the time. I used the pell grant and the first time i did work study. I got a associate degree in Finance and a certif in supervision. I chose that because the offerings at the local college was few at the time. I never was able to use it as my nerves and other health issues prevented it. I then went back years later and got a General Tech degree and a certif in medical coding and Insurance reimbursement. I was going to find a job at a hosp as a receptionist or the like. Ads wanted coding skills. I got a job at a wonderful call center taking calls for emergency drs bills. I highly recommend everyone with work problems to check into it.
I remember it being hard to know what you need to say on those forms and being worried what the dr would say. Take a look at your med records and see what problems you have had treatment for and go from there. Just be honest. I would also suggest if there is a limitation that is small now, remember it may get worse later. Think of different types of jobs (there are descriptions online), visualize yourself doing them and assess what might hinder you in performing the job.
