Welcome CindiLoo, I am so sorry for your pain. The people here are like family, we do what we can to help eachother.
It is good that you will be seeing a rheumy...they are the specialists and they know if more tests are needed to make sure you will be getting proper treatment.
We are all so differant when it comes to medications...what helps one person doesn't necessarily help another...it is trial and error.
Pain levels can and do change with the weather. Heat seems to be our friend, in that it does provide some relief. Karen told you about
the bed buddy...they are great...I have several of the microwave moist heat pads.
Personally, I've found that a combination of relaxation therapies to be helpful, deep breathing exercise...meditation using visual imagery. Walking is wonderful as a stress reliever and it keeps our muscle from feeling tight.
I too feel that having a positive attitude helps. Distracting pain doing something you enjoy is helpful. For fibro, I am taking Savella and use muscle relaxers as needed. I am not pain-free by any means, but I take it one day at a time.
Being diagnosed with a chronic pain condition is not easy...initially you do go through a grieving period, mourning the loss of your good health. It does take time to accept it. We all get there on our own time frame.
I'm glad that you have joined us and do hope you find relief soon!
PS ...A welcome to you too...the new newbie who just joined us truthhurts ..feel free to start an intoductory post!
