I really love my tramadol, but my pain doc and my rheumatologist want me to cut down from my 4 a day 50mg. I'm only 2 weeks out of surgery, 4th since June, and I did cut out the perc and vic, which stopped working anyway.
I'm finding that Advil does best for my inflammation pain from the bone surgery, so I guess I can cut the tram. It's for fibro, the only thing that helps, and I've tried everything else.
My "breakthrough med" is my TENS unit. Along with my heating pad, it helps back muscle pain. It's not great, but I don't have anything else I can take except Valium, and my pain doc said even one a day can get me addicted, so he doesn't want me to take it.
I've had serotonin syndrome a couple of times. Last summer I turned beet red, got horribly overheated, had twitches from taking just one Flexeril 8 hours after taking a tramadol. I had to get in a cool shower and take Valium, presdcribed by doc, to stop the reaction.
